Is there a way to open FLV files directly in an adobe problem? Hopefully I'm missing something here, but it seems like there is no way to directly open an FLV file; you have to embed in a swf/fla or use a 3rd party program. Am I wrong? Can you do this with any adobe players?

I sure don't get it...

I assume you meant "adobe program." VLC can open FLV videos. I don't think any Adobe programs will open them. But if you just need to quickly view them, go for VLC: http://www.videolan.org/

You'll always need some SW to play it... be it flash-based or not... I'd go for this AIR thing: Adobe Media Player (http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/mediaplayer/) (to use, just drag'n'drop the video onto the player). Or I think some of the folks here made a player for .flv, but I'm not sure if it wasn't just playing youtube videos.
