This effect. It is awesome. However, it costs money. I find it sad that something like this should cost 10 bucks.
Anyway, is there a way to recreate this effect without using that filter, or have something else but still a bit the same? I'd be very thankful.

for ten bucks, if you get source code, well, for $100 bucks if you get source code - that a helluva deal for an effect like this. If time is money - and it is if you're dealing with clients paying you to achieve an effect - a 100 bucks is a very very small price to pay versus spending a few days trying to create this yourself.

probably
1. convertImage to BitmapData
2. break up bitmapData
3. send all the little chunks of bitmapData to a coordinate on screen.....not sure but thats what i would try...
that said I would rather pay 10.00 than spend even a few hours recreating that...If thats what i needed for a project

Hmm... Didn't think that it would be such advanced code. I hardly have any idea of code except for the regular button scripts and stuff. Sorry for that misunderstanding.

no need to say sorry - yeah, long-story-short is, thats some hefty code work to achieve that effect - its probably not very many lines of code, but just figuring it out then finessing it down would take some time.

Hmm... Well, is there any way, some adobe extension, that would allow me to scale something, so that I would get some kind of still image of that drain? Like the transform tool, but when used, on the outer side of the graphic the scale wouldn't be as strong (shrink as much as the inside would be, which would result in a normal outside, and more inward it would keep geting smaller, faster.
Not needing that whole drain effect and all those options, I was kind of hoping I could get just that suction effect. It's hard to explain, but if you've played Half Life 2, the Combine Striders have this kind of effect.
