Has anyone had a chance to use the M-Audio Oxygen 49 (or 61) interface?
If so, what were your experiences? How was the weighting, and how responsive was the velocity?
Also, if you could recommend any other USB MIDI controllers, I'd be pretty interested.
Cheers,

I got the Radium 49. I think the Oxygen basically has a few more controllers and a phantom input for the mic? IMO it's not worth the extra dollars unless you are going to sing  If you are going to use Logic with that, you might have to increase the latency cause of all those synths you are gonig to use. M-Audio's controllers' velocity responses are all pretty standard. I'm not a hardcore piano player so I'm not sure how many velocity levels are considered good.
I thought the Oxygen had a version that had fewer keys. My 49 is pretty big - long enough to be not-portable...

Axioms are the best out of all mid range M-Audio MIDI controllers. Get the Axiom 49. I have it on my wishlist too. It's not as costly as any higher end controller with the same specs and hence the feel (the velocity and mod controls) may suck a bit to be honest. But it's definitely worth the money. One more thing of deliciousness... It's got awesome trigger pads
Oxygens are very good too. Just that Axioms have more assign options. So if you create electronica or music fused with a lot of synthesized sounds with heavily automated envelopes, the Axiom would be a much better choice. If triggering MIDI notes is all you want, Oxygens are perfect.

@MT - They do, there's the Oxygen 8 v2 and the Oxygen 25.
I thought the Radium line was discontinued... :S Either way, I'd rather not go too far down.
But overall do you find your R49 to be of a high standard?
@Phenex - I wish I could stretch to afford an Axiom, and perhaps I'll be able to, but it's unlikely, and I'd be happy with an Oxygen.
A lot of what I do, as well as creating music, will be notating some compositions with Sibelius, so perhaps the Oxygen is the way to go to save money.

Hey man, Oxygens are cool, as I see um. Ofcourse, if someone really goes in for an Axiom 49, they might as well go all the way and get an Axiom 61, I realized. Just a $50 difference.

I don't have anything to compare my R49 to. It "feels" high standard. :-/
If you are just composing notations though, you probably don't need a controller like this. You could get a cheap MIDI keyboard for like $50 or $100.

That's not all I'm doing. It's about 40-50% of what I do.
I'm gonna have to persuade "santa" if I want to be able to get an Axiom, but they do look great.
From what I've heard they're sturdier too.

Hey Ben, you upload/share your music somewhere? I'd like a listen. :)

I will be doing so very soon, once I get my MacBook and have consolidated them. They're on so many various computers/discs :)
