I have a hard time making a decision on which should I pick: I can get Apple 23 for $550 new or 24 dell for $667 also new from dell store. did anyone of u have side by side for comparison? online I found a lot of reviews but reviews are quite old outdated from 2005 or 2006. I am aware very well of specs of both monitors. both are good monitors; dell has more cramped features in the monitor and higher contrast. but design and quality etc need help to pick one please thx

2 choices only this or that

meh, I prefer view sonic when it comes to quality monitors. (also CRT > LCD for desktop). Look at the value monitors in case you are short on cash. Just another idea.

Don't ignore Samsung! Their monitors are usually better and cheaper than Dell.

It depends what you are going to be using the monitor for...if you want a monitor with very accurate color reproduction for things such as design and photography work, you'll want an 8-bit monitor. Here's a great thread that has monitors sorted by their uses (design, gaming, office work etc):

I'm planning on getting the Dell 2007WFP since my parents already own one and it's been great. I'm also looking at the 24" HP LP2465 too, but it can only be had for around $600.

I was almost going to get a Dell 24" for christmas but ended up not putting a monitor on my list.

After researching I found that the Dell 24" for there price are one of the best for 24".

well same here I did some research and found that BenQ, Dell, pretty decent but I heard a lot of good things about Apple 23 HD display. comparing apple to dell both had advantages and disadvantages dell is bigger more bright more contrast more inputs more display adjustment options, mounting on a wall or desk options and more. Apple doesn't have any of that but al lit has is a looks and I read a lot that colors are way better on apple than Dell. Apple cost 899 plus tax plus shipping so I am looking almost a grand but good thing is I can get it for $550 so umm so i am having trouble making a final decision I have only two options dell or apple

If you're going to be doing anything to do with movies and pictures and want a good picture go with apple for sure, I have two of their 30" Cinema Displays, I do a lot of video editing so when I'm done with a project and look it over it just makes them look beautiful, displays vivid colors and great display of brightness.

Back when I bought my 24" Dell monitor (about a year ago), the comparable Apple monitor had almost the same screen. The only difference was, as you still see now, with the contrast. The extra ports + much lower cost sold me on the Dell 2407, and I don't think things have changed a whole lot since then.

The number of companies making the actual panels is pretty much the same - it's just boxed differently by the likes of Dell, HP, Apple, etc. with some minor tweaks here and there.

well I picked both but color quality is so much better on Apple, dell has too much red or something colors are so unnatural and ugly, one green shade is not green its more like blueish and blue color is purple so I was disappointed yes I can try and I will try to calibrate but from what I read online not much luck I will get. Will keep it for gaming, ghosting is another issue. lots of issues actually :) oh well. I like dell's stand, Monitor is too heavy to adjust the position using one hand you have to use both hands where apple I can do with one hand actually 2 fingers :), not a biggie I also bought a desk mount for dell monitor and it fixed that problem. Overall more happier with apple color and design vise.
