CD - 2002
OK GO - OK GO

Was walking around Best Buy the other day and was bored. Ended up on the CD aisle and noticed OK GO. I remembered that song with the treadmills which I vaguely remembered liking. Then I put the CD in and that song wasn't on there (turns out the song kind of sucks anyway). Most of the songs are pretty generic and lame. All in all I'd say it was a pretty terrible purchase.

^ I have never heard that song, but everybody talks about the treadmill music video... I should youtube it or something.

I think it was Brother Ali - The Undisputed Truth

Pretty good, but I don't listen to it very often.

Talib Kweli - Eardrum

Some of it's a little more "mainstream" sounding than I like, but Talib is always damn good.

Bought some CD's recently I was disappointed with, last CD I downloaded that I thought was a superb CD was New Orders Get Ready

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Get-Ready-New-Order/dp/B00005MOSX/ref=sr_1_16?ie=UTF8&s=music&qid=1196266855&sr=1-16

If you're not into the kind of music New Order does give it a listen (even try listening to the samples on Amazon above).

Cross between pop, rock, funk, synth (and I usually hate synth music)...best album I heard in a while, honest.

umm Sigur Ros' latest one, the live one, and the DVD that they released too.

Before that:

Band of Horses new one
Prince - Ultimate [best of]
Grinderman - Grinderman
Nick Cave and the bad seeds: Noctorama

oh and Smashing PUmpkins - Zeitgeist (new cd/dvd version)

there maybe be a couple others in there, but my music is everywhere... lol

Psychoderelict by Pete Townshend. The constantly-evolving concept of Lifehouse weaves through a story about a reclusive rock artist and the relationship between art, stardom, and the marketplace.

Does an EP count? I bought Clarks Ep called 'Throttle Promoter' the other day. As far as actual album I had purchased "Being Ridden" and "Maryland Mansions" by Cex (Ryan Kidwell) and Bogdan Raczynski's album 'alright!' all in the same day, not sure which order so I don't know which was last.

I bought this a few weeks ago. These guys are a great local band that I am always talking about. This is their most recent EP and it is really excellent. If you're into hard rock/melodic metal you should definitely check out Jackalfeud.

You know you want to. :mu:

Really? I think that's a great album. OK Go are fantastic. Their second album, Oh No, is better still (and has the treadmill song on it).

Are you from Boise? I was just there a couple weeks ago... I went to see Dane Cook with some friends. I don't really like him, but I went and drank and laughed so it was fun. I drank some local beer called Buttface Beer or something... it was good.

Yes sir, I am. I almost went to the Dane Cook thing, but then I remembered he's a douche and 50 bucks is too much to hear the same jokes I've been hearing for five years.

Lupe Fiasco - The Cool

I LOVE Lupe Fiasco. But The Cool is truly not that great. The lyrics are crazy though...

But since his first CD was incredibly underrated, he was unable to get any of the top producers to work on The Cool.

His first CD was probably one of the best Hip Hop CDs to ever come out: Lupe Fiasco - Food and Liquor

Great backpack rap. But The Cool has the most disappointing beats.

I'm fearless. Now hear this, I'm earless. And I'm peerless. That means I'm eyeless. Which means I'm tearless. Which means my iris resides where my ears is. Which means I'm blinded. But I'mma find it, I can feel its nearness. But I'mma veer so I don't come near. Like a chicken or a deer. But I remember I'm not a listener or a seer so my windshield smear. Here, you steer, I really shouldn't be behind this, clearly cause my blindness. The windshield is minstrel, the whole grill is roadkill, so trill and so sincere. Yeah, I'm both them there

hmmm i agree slightly. and yes F&L was amazing. There are probably 6-7 SOLID tracks on The Cool, and the thing is, there're ALL bunched together. Like from Superstar onwards are all the solid track on the album. I LOVE the beats from most of these tracks too. And yeah, the lyrics are dope on the album!!

I read that Snoop is looking towards legends of rock for inspiration on his new album as his "posse" don't inspire him that much anymore. Will be interesting to see what happens with that.

HMMMM last CD i bought... before the year ended, i got THe Hives new one, MAN this is an awesome end of year album to get, I can't exactly remember when it came out, but it was a good solid release for the end of the year. I think i got it about a month or so after it had been released. def in my top 10 for the year.

ummm what else... The Cool by Lupe, but talked about that up there ^^

OHH! i got 2 Explosions In The Sky albums, they're pretty good. They're an instrumental band, i think they supported The Smashing Pumpkins on a few shows on their US tour. But yeah, a nice instrumental band to relax too.

thats it for now, i haven't really bought that much in the last quarter of the year... whats coming up? Hmmm the new Mars Volta album is due out this month so i'll be getting that. Any reconmendations of new releases?
