Showing Numbered Pages To Display News Threads

Hello,

If I want to display news data from a database but limit it to show 5 news threads per page, how would I go about listing numbered pages for the archived news threads. For example, the home page is showing 5 news threads and below it says Page 1, Page 2, Page 3
