Hi everyone,
Above you'll find the poll with the entries that the judges really liked. The poll will close on 1 December 2007. As always, keep the voting fair and don't spam your friends and well-wishers to vote on your behalf.
The judges were, in no particular order, Slowroasted, Krilnon, Sirisian, and RabBell.
Cheers!
Kirupa :)

I was stuck between "What Moves You" and "More Efficient ... Impossible," but chose the latter for the better idea. The former had a far superior execution, though.

narrowing it down to the finalists wasn't that difficult. But picking the best is really tough. Stuck between 3.
ok, I voted. Best of luck everybody :beam:

Just to clarify, I can see who all voted for whom and their join dates (exact time, etc.). If there are irregularities, only votes from members who registered prior to this poll going up live will be counted ;)

Wow apparently I don't have 27 friends to compete against the insane jump that entry received ... hmmm odd wouldn't you say?
kirupa

Only 8 of those 27 were made by people who registered yesterday and never came back. If the voting gets too close, I'll subtract the votes from newly registered members across all entries :)

I'm suspicious too. Edit: Nevermind; Kirupa seems to have it under control.

hi..for all the people who think that i posted to my friends for select my design, are wrong because i like go trough channels...by the other hand, i know that its complicated to choose one..because there are very good designs... kirupa has the control and decide who is not going trough channels and who isn't... If i say to my friends.."vote for me"..my score will be higher than now is...just trust in kirupa administration.
thanks anyway...

ummm ok? it sort of destroys the point of it being a competition ... but like you said, K-Man has the final say ... so I'm not going to sweat it. :thumb:

hi monchito..
first of all i want to tell you that i'm going trough channels, i don't like lies.
things like you has said, I'm following the rules.
by the other hand ..I want to clarify this is not my first competition...my designs have been recognized for international jurors too, for example I've won one competition for products related with personal hygine That was fora a competiotion in miami fl) and the other was for macef international design award, my design was exhibited in macef macef international design fair, my design was choosen between 5002 entries..and i didn't do anything for change the opinion of the judges, if you want you can visit:
http://www.designboom.com/contest/view.php?contest_pk=16&item_pk=11586&p=1
http://www.designboom.com/ceramics_exhibition.html
even I didn't win, my design was exhibited with 119 entries more...thant only happens when the people like what you do...
I can't deny that the other entries in this contest are very good (in fact better than mine in different topics), but if the people like what i do...what else can I do?...
so ..let the people choose , and please don't continue with those comentaries like you have done...those comentaries doesn't help me and ...
forgive me if I'm very rude..but i had to tell you.
thanks anyway...:snug:

Okay I wasn't questioning when I first saw it, but I can't seem to figure out through logic where those 40 votes are coming from. I mean the work is okay, but I didn't know this site had that many dedicated members. I'd like to see how many of those users have over 10 posts or are more than 1 month old.
I only question this because even I can spoof IP's that look like fresh ones from completely unrelated users.
It's looking to be a tight race though for second at any rate. I voted for transport world. The only problem with it is the copied microphone and poor AA/pixelized edges.

I wish to know if in the rules of this contest, there is any topic about "numbers of posts for participate here"...if there are tell me...i wish to know where..
you ask yourself about how many user have over 10 posts..., Do you know how many posts have i made only 5 and this is my 6?...in fact, before this contest, i havenīt participate in this forum, i was an "completely unrelated user" as you said...and i didnīt like to write (iīm a little lazy)..but in this case I have to participate to defend my design and protect my integrity...
So this kind of comentaries doesnīt help to anybody and I recommend you to wait that the people decide.
and remenber people from kirupa has everything under control.

and remenber people from kirupa has everything under control. In regards to people who submit post count doesn't matter, but when a poll is assaulted by new users or users with few posts it becomes questionable. The internet is a very tricky area when it comes to fair voting.
I'm not saying anything about this poll in particular, it's just something I've noticed. At my normal forum when we did programming competitions only regular users were allowed to vote. Meaning over 300 posts or people who are in the IRC channel. It's a safe way to enable fair judging. Also we used an open voting not a poll and graded things based on a set of categories along with criticism and explanations of our choices. meh, whatever works best I guess.
I will also ask one question:
http://www.kirupa.com/forum/showthread.php?t=280673
We're you complimenting yourself? Or was it just to bump the post. That confused me. I mean all you said was "good".

i know that is really extrange the way my votation growth, but ...i don't know what happened that day... as i answer in another post: "...if i say to my friends "vote for me " ..be sure that my votation will be higher...so i know a lot of people ..but i understand that a good design should be recognized by the quality..not for popularity...niether by the numbers of freinds...so..i just wait that the people decide which one is the best entry ...
and respect to this....
I will also ask one question:
http://www.kirupa.com/forum/showthread.php?t=280673
I have to say that i was a little confused about the way of this forum works... and by the other hand i didn't understand what did i have to do..because..my english level is not as good to understand all things...(maybe you have seen it in my other answers) ... i wasn't trying to bump the post..neither compliment myself..i just was confused...
and that's all that i have to say by the moment...
have a nice day...

Enough with this! If you tallied all of the people who registered just to vote on luise's entry, that is just around 10 members. The margin of victory will still be over 20 votes if those 10 were subtracted.
Since this poll was also on the home page for more than a week, it is only natural that people will register just to vote on their favorite entry.
Sirisian - The problem with limiting the voting just to long-term members is that the voting will be biased towards people you know better. Newcomers who submit entries will have a more difficult time, and unlike programming competitions, there is no right/wrong way to judge an artistic entry.
