OK, this may sound kind of vague but I want to draw a kind of cartoony eagle...urm bald eagle would be nice.

But not like flying or anything...prepherably on crutches...

man this is random and vague.

Urm, just any helpful tips if you can help me out or something.

Oh yeah, I'm using photoshop...but I also have paint!

If you can help me with anything that would be great...and I'll go an wonder why I posted this thread.

Thanks.

um.. is it for a logo? or a piece of clipart or what? generally, I'd recommend using the pentool. it's difficult to use at first, but once you get the hang on it, it's incredibly versatile.

it's also often a good idea to sketch it out on paper, scan it, then outline using the pen tool and colour it.

can we have a bit more info? :)

Thanks for replying to such a lame post.

Yeah it's for a logo. My own produiction company's logo actually...wow that sounds good...I'm a media student so I need a production company right?

Well the name of my production company is "Ill Eagle Productions"

Get it?

Don't worry, most people don't.

But anyway, that's the kind of sceem I wanted...hope thats a little bit more info.

Now if my tempromental computer will let me, I'll see if I can open photoshop AND be on the net at the same time to check out what this so called "pentool" thing is.

hehe, I get it ;), very good :) .. is it going to be a fully illustrated logo? or do you just want a silhouette? or both? If it's for a logo, then I'd definitely recommend using the pen tool to create a vector image that can be nicely scaled to any size :)

We're English, of course we get it. :P

I'd say Illustrator, but I've just noticed you haven't mentioned that, so scrap that bit. :sure: Flash?

So yeah. What he said. About Photoshop, I mean. The Pen is basically the same as in Illustrator. It's place a start point then an end point and curve the resulting line...

Boy, that was well explained... :P

that is going to be tuff to get to look god in vector. A bald eagle on a crutch. Maybe try to think of something less literal and more symbolic of what you are trying to create.

Thanks all.

Wow, you get it!

Well, I tried this pen tool and after some much tomfoolery I've decided to give up and go to bed.

I'm man enough to walk away from this stupid anoying program you've all learned to love.

If anybody could...somewhat...err...elabourate on Kitiara's in depth instructions and stuff...that would be another great help.

But for now...

Tomorrows another day.

basically.. she said: do what asphalt said. for he is king. kinda ;)

just takes a bit of practice m8! it's definitely best to scan a pencil drawing and outline it with the pen tool, rather than draw it from scratch on the pc with the pen tool!

oh, and read the pen tool tutorial! it's very helpful :P

night :)

Bah. :)

I'm sure it can't be that difficult to sketch up something quickly... I'll give it a quick go tomorrow, see if I can get it looking vaguely decent. :)

OK, well tonight IS actually another night (suprise, suprise) and I'm gonna give it a go.

I'll have a play around with that blasted tool in photoshop and see how it goes but I think I'll actually do the final in Illistator. I was having a go on it today and vecters (sp?) look much nicer. Reminds me of the good old flash days.

Thanks for that tutorial link mate, I'll check them out now.

Oh and Kitiauenbf (I'll just call you Kit like everyone else) thanks if you did have a go.

Anyway, enough of the chin wag...on with this tool thing.

Alo!

HAHAHAHAHA......chin wag........AAAAAAAAHahahaha.....I like that must use it.

Why not do the whole thing in Illustrator if your final is going o be there. Use ill's pen tool.
