i need some (actually a lot of it) help with applying style to upb forum (text files based)

they don't have a help area on the site? i have never heard of upb...

it's very usefull if you can't use MySQL...
it needs PHP only!:thumb:

ok, switched to PHPBB v2.0.5

but still need help with this skin :P

they have help areas on their forum. You will get better help there than you will here. They made it, they know how to skin it.

yea they have a great forum on their site which answers all questions regarding your concerns

Simple way:
1) Download a style-zip file
2) Unzip it into /phpBB2/templates/ on your server
3) Enter the admin-mode on your phpBB-forum, and change the style (find the option in the menu)

And yes, their page/forum is very informative.

hey did you make your own? i am attempting it right now, not too hard but very time consuming

I did once, but let me tell ya, it was the worst experience ever! For instance, to only change the colors of the forum, you had to change the RGB-code in a LOOOOT of places. I wish they had put the colors as globals, at least.

Hmm, wait a minute, I just remembered that the new version of the forum comes with a color-editor. Just go into the admin-panel and I think its there. Yepp, Styles Admin -> Create. Wow, that should make it simple and fast as h**l !!! There is plenty you can change quickly here - colors, fonts, images etc.

yea what im doing is laying it out in photoshop first so i dont get confused

good idea to get a visual image first...just dont do what I did, and edit it all by hand (css-files, html-files, etc,etcetccc AAAARGH!!!!)
