^I briefly dated a chick that vagely resembled Stay Puff in college.

But yeah, that looks badass. I hope Slimer is a playable character.

Wow! Awesome news!
This kinda lends credence to the interview I read with Dan Ackroyd a few months back too...
He said that all the guys were asked, and on board for a sequel, but they they felt they were too old now, and were more likely to voice a CG movie instead. Dissapointing to say the least, but better then nothing. It wouldn't surprise me if this game is a tie in with that, or perhaps a replacement. I just prey that it actually has Murray, Ackroyd and Ramis as the vocal talent. It would be a real dissapointment to hear some joker immitating them.

I personally hope Slimer is not a character at all, but I would love to see an unlockable Rick Moranis! Tully rules!

Niiiiiiice!! :D

*edit*

Quoting GameSpot:

Harold Ramis, Dan Akroyd, and Bill Murray reprise their famous ghost-busting roles in this game co-written by Ramis and Akroyd.

Seems like the original cast is still active

Awesome news!
I poked around some other sites and apparently Ernie Hudson is confirmed as well, as is William Atherton ("Mr. Pecker") from the first movie. I guess it really is going to be a re-telling of the original script then and not some sequel type of thing.

I can't wait for this, although the "next-gen" console versions are being made by Terminal Reality, which doesn't have that great of a track record in my book...
Nocturne was pretty cool, and the Bloodrayne games are fun for about ten minutes, but I don't recall them ever making anything that really impressed me...

Red Fly studios is apparently making a "casual version" for the other consoles. I've never heard of them, but the concept of weilding a proton-pack with the Wii remote sounds interesting.

I read some more in-depth coverage on this title over the weekend, and found out some awesome stuff.
This IS in fact Ghostbusters 3, Dan Aykroyd said they decided to make this instead of the CG film he had been planning. He and Harold Ramis are writing it, and it will take place directly after GB2, but obviously contain some scenes from the first two movies as well.

Not only are the 4 GBs returning, but Annie Potts and Rick Moranis are planned to be in it as well. No word on Sigourney Weaver yet, but I for one don't really care if she makes it in...

They have a website up by the way, and the game is (as of now) expected Q3/4 08

I can't see any the links here but is this the same one that some Russian company was developing early this year? At least I think the were Russian and I think they had a demo but were seeking the rights to go forward.

The "real" Ghostbusters game is currently being developed by Terminal Reality for x360/Ps3, and Red Fly studios is doing the Wii and portable versions. Both of those studios are located in Texas.

A company I have never heard of called ZootFly (located in a country I have never heard of either, Slovenia) released a video earlier this year showing just how slick a GB game could be on an Xbox360. (Some people have speculated that it was built using the Gears Of War engine, which I think is Havok?)

They however never held any rights to the property, and consequently they have nothing to do with the actual GB game. From what I understand they kinda drummed up some interest for a new GB game through footage of their version, so the rights holders then decided to go to some other dev houses in the US to make it once they realized people wanted it.

Zootfly's version looked interesting for sure (much grittier and more exciting IMO), but now they have just stripped the GB out of it and are releasing it under the title "TimeO". It doesn't look nearly as cool without the license...
You can still see thier original footage on youtube btw.
