DrOp The AlTErNaTing cAps.
(they looks childish)
Crank the title fonts up so they are significantly different in height to the body type.
Add more polish to it by adding subtle borders, wee little bevels, gradients etc- to dress it up. Right now it looks super plain, and a lick of colour and tonal variation would really help :)

maybe add a photograph icon maybe can't hurt huh huh

simple and effective, but doubting the ad placement (and amount)
change the header, maybe tweak the nav a bit. it looks promising, but could be better. currently, it looks dull:)

not a bad start, but i'd say that the typography is really not that great. try using fonts more like trebuchet ms & helvetica neue..
