last night i spilled a little bit of water on my dad's desk, and some of it splashed on his stuff (wacom tablet and keyboard). he was gone, and doesn't know about the situation yet. i tried taking the keys off and cleaning everything, making sure it wasn't wet, but i think some water seeped inside and now most of the keys don't work, half the ones that do type little squares, and i'm a complete noob. so if anyone knows of anyway i can fix it (and not have to tell dad or buy a new keyboard) any help you can give would me much appreciated. kirupa's one of the few forums i go on, and this is the only one with a category that this thread might fit in. ssorry if it's in the wrong place, plizz help! :(

Nah ones you fry it its not possible to replace it... sorry to hear man.

Just be happy you didn't kill his wacom and buy him a nice keyboard. Good luck.

Fun fact - if you'd unplugged it immediately so no electricity was circulating, it might have been ok. The reason water fries stuff like electronics is because water is conductive and makes electrons jump around like cats on PCP. So, next time you spill on a keyboard (and it WILL happen), unplug it ASAP.

It helps if you take it apart, dump it in a tub of water, stir it around, let it dry in the sun, and then reassemble.

Take a video.
