Looking at building a system and got this in my email from tiger-direct, sounds like a good deal.

What will you be using it for if you purchase it? It seems that some of the parts are pretty dated, but it will all come down to what you are mainly going to be using it for. Go back and forth between newegg and tiger just look up each item and get a price for each part, then compare. Personally I am also a bit dated on what is the latest and greatest, but a quick glance it seems to be an "okay" barebones system. Nothing mind blowing.

Mainly graphics and rendering (OGL and Video). I dont game much on a PC. I will have alot of programs open at once too.

You will defo need a better CPU. The RAM seems very cheap, that can't be a good sign. IMO you need a much better PC if you are going to have lots of programs open aswell as rendering video.

Get a Core 2 Duo, it's a better processor(s). I did a quick google search to try and find a comparison and this was a good article: http://www.anandtech.com/cpuchipsets/showdoc.aspx?i=2795&p=2
you can snag a pretty good BB system from tiger http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=3119006&CatId=2431

I think we have forgotten to ask an important question. What is you're budget?

Def could do better. It looks like they are trying to get rid of all their old hardware and are selling a computer with it all.
Its an okay price though but some of the parts as described above are dated, i mean it will run everything you want well... I'd say buy it and replace the processor.

bah havent really considered it. Never bought a barebones so I dont know what appropriate budget would be. I dont need everything topshelf, but maybe a few things topshelf then the rest can be mid-tier.

Can always do a saved wishlist on newegg.com, save it, show us, or submit it to eggxert as well.

yea I think I will do that. I have been thinking about a new desktop for a while and never did anything until I got that from TD in my email. So I was like "let me ask the pro's over at the forum"... Glad I did too.

:beam: Thanks! I forgot three essential things:
A reasonably priced sound card: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16829102017
A (ridiculous but cool) case: http://www.xoxide.com/ufo.html:lol:
Seriously, don't actually buy that, but it is too badass for words..
And one of these (just isn't complete without it):
