View Full Version : New Software...?
SureShot

Hello fellow Kirupians. I have a question... does anyone know when the new versions of the Studio MX suite and Adobe PHotoshop, Illustrator and Indesign will be released?
From what I have found on the web, Adobe will be releasing most of it's new software line this fall but I am not 100% sure. As for macromedia - I couldnt find any info anywhere. I mean they are dropping the price of studio MX like 100 bucks so that must mean something is on the way.
Does anyone have any info on it? Thanks in advance!

who knows... maybe they'll have even improved it such that we can actually use text in our flash work ;)

join the group...
this has been my story since Flash 2... everytime I feel comfortable with a version, a new one comes out... with new people who know it far more than I do...

lol yup, same here... espcially actionscript-wise.. :trout:
I think mx2 will have better loading API as Moock requested, and, well, I'm *hoping* a better flash (7?) plug-in

I want the (hopefully new) API to include textboxes (you know, dynamic, static, input, etc...)

I simply want Flash to enable the use of dynamic .gif or .png again...
I can't believe how many times I have needed this since Gen2 was abandoned...

I can't wait till Flash MX2 is released. It'll be a nice change to start writing some new things again =)

I'm just glad the the saturation of the Player 6 is up to above 95% now... with a new release of software, it'll be another year before the majority of the web upgrades to the newer player...
Personally, I think that MM has withheld a few options, just to preserve their idea of revenue streaming... I say, offer less versions, but make the versions more of a change... save the people who actually use their products a few dollars and pains...

I can't believe nobody's said this yet:
how about a 3D API?

didnt we have a wishlist of features for FMX2? lol
I pointed out in that thread that MM has Director to handle any 3d-worlds or such, flash wasn't designed for that :)

Yeah, there was a wishlist of features around a while back. :)
I think I'm going to have to ask Churchill to upgrade for me. :beam:

If ever a newer version of Flash comes out, i only hope that there will no more new players. That's the real problem with Flash's new versions they come with new versions of the player that users have o download again. :(
