Logo practice

So, I have very little experience with logos/identity (read: I suck at them), so I thought I'd practice a little. Here's a few I came up with. They aren't really for anything real, just me messing around. They're basically just text-based, not much real illustration going on yet.

And sorry about the over-used, trendy black/gray + cyan color combo, I'm too lazy to do anything more creative.

I'm open to any ideas, critiques, and insults! I just want to learn and improve!

The left ones look bad. So either the right ones.

I like the two on the right. The ones on the left look like "LU"

I read "BLUB" on the left ones. It was a clever attempt though.

Ye I read blub too. Perhaps if you opened up either side of both bs that would solve the problem.

Son of a... it does say "blub"! The top right is actually the only one I like at all, now that I've had time away from them.
