I have $300 and i wanna buy Flash MX or Photoshop 7. I want them both but i only have enough to buy one. Which one should i buy? :ninja:

it all depends on what you want to do...

if you want to do fun things with images, then photoshop.

If you want to do fun things with animation, then Flash.

Apples and Oranges...

kinda like saying which should I buy, a motorcycle, or a boat?

Which is better for just having fun with? I like to make movies, but you can make better pics with Photoshop. I also wanna make a web site out of Flash but i want Photoshop to make cool background pics.

I'm probably gonna go with Flash. You can do more with it.

It sounds to me like you are just surfing ebay, and picking out software they have to sell.

lightwave is incredible, but has a very large learning curve and is a 3D modeling program. another piece of software that is drastically different than the other 2.

I suggest you take some time and figure out what you want to do before buying anything.

It would be like wanting to work on cars, so you buy a metric wrench set before you decide which brand of car you are going to be working on...

I've usued Lightwave and Flash. I have more experience with Flash, a lot more. I havent used Lightwave much and i wanted to know if it had better qualities than Flash like maybe you can do more with it or something.

again, totally different program to do totally different things.

you can't do 3D in Flash, but it's easier to tween in Flash, but you can't do photo manipulation as easy as Photoshop...

you might not want to buy from ebay! If you don't get the educational version (which by the way is exactly $300) you might get software with a stolen CD key (Easy to put back in box and re-wrap so it looks like new)

That's kind of right, although i did want to see if anyone could change my mind. I'll get Photoshop some other time.

I was able to pick them both up on ebay for really good prices, and in good condition too. and they weren't ripped, so i guess i got lucky.:P

bank the cash ... install trial versions of both (fully functional/saveable) test drive em for awhile... then buy the one you'll get most use out of

but like rev said - they aren't comparable

Swish and Flash would be a comparison thing...
Fireworks and photoshop sorta would be.....
etcetera, etcetera, etcetera
