Right now Dancing Queen is blasting through the speakers at my job. I don't think I have to say anything else.

What's the worst song played at your job?

I used to work in a lab that studied birds at the university here, and this guy would bring in the worst music every day. Some notable gems were the "Brother Bear" soundtrack (Phil Collins pretending to be Native American... yeah.), and I also used to have to listen to that "Total Eclipse of the Heart" song about 3 times a day.

^ lol

"Total Eclipse of the Heart" gets played here a lot too. I usually sing my own version based off the wedding singer movie.

People do not typically listen to music where i work. It's a cubicle farm. Luckily I have a quadrant of four cubicles all to myself. I can listen to whatever I want without bothering anyone.

A cubicle farm lol. Fester where do you work and what do you do for a living? Besides killing people of course.

lucky people with music, same situation as fester with the cubicles but mostly it's everyone listening to their iPods

I did used to work in a jewellers though when I was at college and we had to play this Christmas CD over and over again. By the end of Christmas I could sing every song on the cd in the order they were on the cd

There are 3 of us in my dept sharing a room (it's an odd office - space wise). We usually listen to NPR because its fairly neutral but when it gets too depressing we switch to radio or my ipod. However for awhile my supervisor was playing the soundtrack to "Hedwig and the Angry Inch" and singing along. :sigh: (and where is the 'canthear' equivalent to --> :cantlook: )?

The only song I hear at work that I don't listen to voluntarily is the Star Spangled Banner, and I'm not about to complain about that, ever! I have worked at some places that were awful as far as music selection went. Value City had the same muzak channel as Denny's and every other 3rd rate dept. store, MCI had constant blasting hip hop, and a screenprinting place I worked at had a manager who listened to nothing but 50 Cent and newer garbage rap.
Now I sit here all day and listen to Haujobb, :Wumpscut:, Velvet Acid Christ and Ministry. :krazy:

We use headphones but I take my lunch the opposite time as my boss and the other guy so I can use speakers for an hour a day.

*goes off to listen to total eclipse of the heart*

I work for a company that manufactures boring but important stuff for commercial electronics. I am pretty much the web/graphics/IT guy.

I have to wear a sales hat every now and again for trade shows and whatnot. But as you can probably safely assume, I am not very customer service oriented.

^ Sounds pretty much like what I do, only switch "commercial electronics" with "medical equipment".

Hmm the worst song I have heard in my room(since I don't have an office) is the Mexican music that plays non stop really loud at my neighbors house, its cool tho, they have to listen to my music all day and night.

edit: just as I post this, Chica Me Tipo by Sublime comes, and its an all mexican song.

I used to work a few years back at a company where the boss would play all day long Sabrina, Samantha Fox, New kids on the block and all that junk. That's the stuff that my mind revolted against the most.

Currently it's iPod for me, so that's cool. I once worked at a so-called amusement park as a cartoonist, and was subjected to stuff even worse than "Total Eclipse of the Heart". Just godawful carnival sounding stuff. Ecch.

At least you can crop dust and not offend anyone then.

Its all Ipods here music playing out loud isn't allowed. Crapper is the only place you can hear music.

I like the phrase "cubicle farm". Never heard that one before. I don't listen to music at my work place either.

I think the most inappropriate music I’ve heard was during a funeral, the 'ashes to ashes' bit had just been said when some house wife drove past with the windows down, blaring out 'wake me up before you go go' by wham. I almost fell in the grave laughing. Outrageous timing.

Apart from that, i'd have to say anything sung by Noddie bloody Holder at christmas.

That song by Reba. In fact, all of the songs by Reba. I had to listen to an entire Harry Nielson CD (of Put the Lime in the Coconut fame). There used to be a lot of crappy country playing too. Now I can listen to whatever I want.

^Thats far worse than me.

The guy I use to work with listened to punk, not the kind that kinda sounds like rock either. It was horrible.

... to make matters worse, the next taxi driver was playing 'Barbie Girl' by Aqua. Is there a violently vomiting emoticon on this forum?

I'm in charge of the music in my office so I don't have to listen to anything I don't like.

Yesterday we had the Bar-Kays and Sly And The Family Stone on the go most of the day. It was great. :P

Well I work for a tech company and we're doing some tech crap so I'm all over the place. I spend most of my time in the Times Square locations, but I'm all over the NYC metro area for them. I have yet to see Carson, but I rode the elevator up the other day with Sway which cracked me up.
