Battle Royale - everyone should watch this film. it has quickly become one of my favourite of all time. it is truly a brilliant piece of cinema.

Naw, but you're right, let's just stick to the movie facts and stuff. I'm going to talk about the Matrix:

Has anyone seen this flick yet? If not, go out and see it. It's about this guy named Thomas Anderson/Neo who gets told that he is living in a fake world created by machines. He is told by this dulch named <strike>Kazaa</strike> Morpheus. Then there's this girl, yada yada, who doesn't really impact the movie. Later on Morpheus tells Neo that he is the One ("One" is an anagram of "Neo"...hm...). The bad guy's named Agent Smith who can do all this magical hoopla from within the matrix (oh yeah, that's what the fake world is called). At the end we see Neo fly.
I rate it 9.7/10.

is anyone here going to buy Gangs of New York. saw it in theaters and it was really good, but a little too long. still a really good movie.

Gangs of New York. Now that's a movie. Scorsese is one of the best directors around. It should have won best pic at the oscars. I'm gonna go pick it up today. ***1/2

really interesting, exciting, and... just.. engrossing. highly recommended! not for the feint of heart ;)

It's japanese (released in 2001), so chances are you won't have heard of anyone in it - most of the actors are really young, there is one guy you might know - Takeshi Kitano - he was in Johnny Mnemonic (he's been in lots of other things - but this is the only one I can remember atm :))

Something confuses me here...imdb says that Shuya is a terrorist, but in the first one he was the good guy. I hope they're just talking about him being wanted. He didn't kill anyone in BR, did he...I wonder how he's gonna take on a whole rack of high school students...

ye.. I think they class him as terrorist simply because he escaped the system and is trying to bring down the govt (not sure if that's violent means or not - would be a shame for them to change his character to a purposefully violent one..) who knows.. I'm sure a lot of it is just speculation and rumour...

interesting twist though: sending the school kids after him :)
