Alright you fluffly actionscript bunnies

I recently got together with a few other Flash web designers and started an awards showcase to try and give some well deserved exposure to original and creative flash websites (http://www.flash-in-the-pan.org/).

The project is still under development, so if you have any suggestions or run / know of any worthy flash websites then we would of course appreciate your input.

There is also already a nice database of awesome links for you to build a lightbox from if your just bored or in need of inspiration!

All comments welcome ;)

Cheers

Just what the web needs ANOTHER flash showcase site linking a load of sites already linked on a load of other flash showcase sites calling themselves awards.

;)

And posting your own site in the kool sites forum is not cool

And your name is a bit close to the Flash in the Can awards http://awards.fitc.ca not sure they will be too happy about that

what's with this influx of people linking their sites on kool sites:|

Sorry you feel that way man. That sounds a little bitter. We take time to vet all submissions and write individual reviews, but if we link to the same sites as others than I guess that’s just a reflection of the times and the work that’s coming out and being promoted by the designers.

We add and rank sites according to our own criteria and as result have a very different database and taxonomy to other sites.

Yes, can ryhmes with pan, well spotted. ‘Flash in the Pan‘ is an expression however, one intended to be ironic given the purpose of the site. We though this play on words would be apparent without explanation; shame you understood it to be some arbitrary butchering of someone else’s name.

If there are in fact no cool sites on FITP, then posting in this forum was indeed a mistake.

Thanks for your sarcasm, perhaps our time is more wisely spent promoting our own work rather than showing appreciation for other peoples.

Yes, can ryhmes with pan, well spotted.

You can offer up your sarcastic reply to an intellectual property lawyer. The fact that flash in the can has been around for years and you have started flash in the pan could cause some confusion and that alone is grounds for a suit of some sort.

Whatever - good luck in your "awards" site.

At least it's a fairly nice design.

It is very un kool to post your site in kool sites. But aside from that, I like the design and delivery alot. One of the better ones out there.

Oh yea and "Flash in the Pan" is a saying, a rather negative saying but a saying none the less. So I doubt dude is trying to cash in on fitc. Lets, again very nice delivery.

Thanks chaps.

Next step is getting the featured artists on, but we have our hands full at the moment, some really nice original and cool sites coming in!

Sound is annoying.

There is only button sounds though, no 'funcky' music! lol, thats what always gets me, when you have your own tunes playing and someone things you want to listen to theirs.

Not quite sure why the sound on here offends you though
