View Full Version : Linking to SWF movie from different directories

Hello,

I have created a flash movie, which I have imported into a Dreamweaver template. The SWF movie is in an 'images/footer/' directory, and there are web pages in a directory 'main/submain/' for example, but web pages in the 'submain' directory, which are linking to the SWF movie displays a blank movie - 'movie not loading'. Is there some kind of limitation as to how many directories you can link through?

../images/footer/movie.swf (this seems to work)

../../images/footer/movie.swf (this DOESN'T seem to work)

Any help on this would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Maxim.

is this online anywhere for use to check out?

if i were you i would just keep all my HTML in one folder, at least thats what i always do.

also sometimes DW can give stuff weird directory calls, like at your embed tag to see if its going to the right place.

You need to go into Flash and tell it where they are. The best is to use a direct link ex www.domain.com/folder1/folder2/index.swf -- Since you dont have the file posted I cant tell but thats the best way to deal with loaded content in flash
