New Layout

Another layout I did for a personal site. I'm trying to get better at design. Please leave C&C

not much to comment on. I'm not a designer but as someone who might visit your website, I'd say the navigation is too large. Also the images are rather random. Not to mention putting an ipod is rather odd for your portfolio button.

Black and an odd green. You might want to use some more colors. Also your font for the Willaay.net seems odd. Might just be the large contrast between black and white.

Might want to go with a green background. The white makes the navigation stick out too much. Also the font for the navigation is a bit simple.

The guy with the guitar is okay, but it seems out of place.

Maybe try and make a full layout for your blog page, so we can see more in depth what you are planning. I think you might have submitted this a bit early for criticism.

Your template site on: http://www.willaay.net/s/ looks pretty good. Might try and work around that organization wise. Keep the icons for your navigation if you use them on topic to what they mean. Like contact might be phone? And portfolio might be an open book? I'm not a designer but they sound like ideas.

agree with the comments above.

The green kinda falls flat. It's not interesting enough to be the main colour of your site. Whether it's bright, cool, dark or warn the main colour should at the least be interesting and that green just isn't. I'd replace it.

The nav is way to large. The space for your content is smaller than your nav...that should send alarm bells ringing. Plus again I'm pretty much just repeating whats been said above but they are weird choices for logos. The image of the guy with the guitar as well is a bit weird as well. This is a guy jumping in the air playing an electric guitar, it's a lod photo, it's big, it's brash, it's got balls and then you've coloured it that weird green and muted it right down. Why not just have the photo?

Is this for a blog? If so I'd browse through some blogs and hgave a look at modern blog design...even look at some wordpress and blogger templates. I don't think for a guy who's doing a blog on music that the design is very modern and in one field the design of a site has to be modern, it's music.

I like the vector graphics, but I'd replace the typeface, because they are just as important as your graphics :)

I wouldn't doubt it. It's a great font.

4 years= refinement.
