ruining society's attention span...

But I would still rather speak to a friend/client, in real time, with emotions and all, rather than type a message to them, giving that person time to "become witty," or misunderstood.

Telephones are extremely useful...

If you didn't have a telephone you probably wouldn't have had dial-up.. Which decreases the amount of people you talk to online.. PLUS,.. All your best friends are easier to just call up and be like.. hey whatcha doin.. blah blah blah...

As for cell phones... For someone like me.. Who is constantly going places.. It's a convenience.. Especcially when getting stuck places.. As for these self centered dumbbutts who carry them "every" single place in the world.. NO hehe..

its truly amazing how there are screen names, but theyre not ever used. i think the screen names that arent used within a 1 - 2 month period should be up for whoever wants em (like battlenet)

I wouldn't want to come back, after either vacation, or down time, and find my screenname being used by someone else...

I don't mind phones... I actually use a phone occasionally, but I refuse to talk to someone for longer than 5 minutes. If more time is required, I simply arrange to meet in person. Otherwise, AIM is used for all casual conversation. I have a handful of separate conversations simultaneously... you can't do that over the phone without being rude or awkward.

I think AOL should do like, if the sn isn't used in a month or so, then it should be automatically become avaliable again.

Personally, I prefer phone. IM's are ok, but then, it's hard to express feelings and such. Phones are much better to know someone more than using IM's.

Lost: Yeah, I have people telling me they were going to kill me. And that happens a lot, because I have this habit of pissing a lot of people off. I just don't like to deal with it online. If you have a problem with me, then come to my house and we'll settle it. Don't bother me when i am trying to do work. I only allow people on my list after they have contacted me and I have added them. :)

Smart idea. I used to get a ton of people asking me to do their projects for them and when I said no they would harass me. Then I got some people who just harassed me for no reason and would IM me talking all kinds of &@#^&# if you know what I mean. Not worth it at all.
