too many fonts are being used, title, top nav, side nav, text...
i love the colors, and header look, but the font in the header kinda ruins it for me

There are too many differing elements. The bottom solid grey bar should be the same as the top bar. The confess and browse buttons should be smaller, and maybe loose the gloss effect. Overall good looking site (maybe a little small, as in height?)

I like this kind of thing though, posting your troubles on a forum. Kind of like what we do here, only with real life. Watch out for flamers.

I like the colors and feel in general, I'd try to get rid of the scrolling bar and compact everything a little more so that you can read everything without scrolling at all.

here is and update
http://www.stratospheredesign.com/work/bayside/index.html

also the site will end up being dynamic so some pages will be longer and some shorter sooo i can't really just get ride of the scroll bar and make is super compact, well i guess i could but i dont think its needed some ppl will scroll a little and some will not
