alright, i modified it a bit, but not the effect itself. before i implemented a security thing in the swf that prevented it to play when somebody downloads it (people steal my swfs all the time :-\). i took that out for this.

it would be nice if kirupa did the same upload/menu thing he did for the footer contest. Since there seems to be so much trouble getting stuff to work (i finally got zylums to show just now)

Kirupas a busy man, it would be troublesome to make him do that for every battle that occurs :evil:

I had no problems with anyones, I copied and pasted the URL of Zylums as stated to do and it worked like a charm.

zylem-snake- this one is just awesome, if we had a snake face following our mouse, that wud have bin scary. I really like dis one.

ilyas- Again an awesome entry, can be used as a preloader sequance.

clown- I felt like a i was walking around in jail wid that ball n chain tied up wid my leg:P, nice entry tho. :cheers:

kartik- An amazing entry for a 13 yr old, sounds indian too :P

scootman- this 1 gives an open galaxy sort of view wid stars n all, tried to make my own glaxy there, lol.I really like this one too

I ll give this one to kartik.Rest i can't decide wich one is better, i ll give this to kartik for such a great effort and simply coz i can't decide out of all u guys, i really like em all=) If we push it...

yeah, the thread definitely went off track, but oh well, happens a lot around here.


As for AS being hard to learn, I guess that depends on the person. It definitely takes a like of time, patience and experimentation. I am still learning AS, I am pretty sure I will never stop learning because I learn something new every day. If you have experience in coding in other languages then learning AS may be a bit easier than if you were starting out in AS, but overall I think AS has a good learning curve and is a relatively easy language to learn.

I voted for kartik. He had a nice, smooth trailer. I didn't really understand Toriphes's. It seems the you have to click and hold the mouse for it to work. That was strange to me. :sigh:

-FAP yeah, sorry about that. I should've told everybody how to use it beforehand. I wanted to make this more than a mouse trailer, so I made it so that, the orbs would go back to its divinely proportional spiral for added effect. with the first attempt i made at this experiment, I made it so that when you hold down the mouse button, it would tilt on an axis and follow the mouse solely on that axis; it made a pretty nice 3D effect, but I got bored with it. at the end, i just decided to make it follow the mouse indefinitely.

also, as a bonus, i made it so that at times, it would follow an infinite-symbol pattern. ;)

maybe you should have made it follow the mouse when the mouse moved and then go to the spiral when the mouse stopped... that would have been a cool effect
