hi..
after about 169 have been submitted to the scribble (http://24.141.60.208/scribble.html) thing i've made, i thought i would make a new one with fewer bugs and more options :)
scribble.2 (http://24.141.60.208/scribble2.html)
I tried to do as much testing as possible. Please let me know if you encouter any bugs :)
cheers!

one word: awesome
no bugs that I could see. worked perfectly. i submitted one and then browsed them.
they load very quickly, i must thank you for that (and I'm on 56k at the moment)

lol thanks :beam:
this time i kept a limit as to how much 'ink' you can use to prevent huge entries being submitted, makes it faster to download :)

wow! so very cool! one bug: make the colour chart open in a blank window. if you click chart and press the back button you lose you're drawing! :)
ahmed
June 24th, 2003, 02:05 PM
ooh.. i didn't know that.. i only tested it in the flash environment.. thanks, i'll fix that :)

June 24th, 2003, 02:11 PM
is there any way to incorporate the chart as a color picker?
instead of having to look, then copy the hex?
just curious... very nicely done BTW

hm.. it would actually mess things up for me, unless i use a UI component (i've seen one before).. i'll see if i can have it on my thing somehow :)

some of the entries were funny, like homestar and some flags. pretty cool.:)
asphaltcowboy
June 24th, 2003, 02:16 PM
also, an eraser would be magic! (or at least make it so that #FFFFFF/white doesn't reduce the ink level.. or something) I keep making mistakes!
an undo function? copy and paste? paint bucket? brushes? j/k ;)

Shape tools :P A line tool :P
But I think out of anything an undo function and/or an eraser tool would rock. There were times when I had to set the color to white and up the line size to color over things that I screwed up on, then I had to reset the color and line back to the color I wanted and line width I wanted to continue. That gets annoying when you screw up as much as I do ;) :P

ahmed, you should make a tutorial for your saving stuff. Like your footer where it saves what the user does to it so it displays that the next time they load it. Or how it saves the picture in this thing. I'm sure it could be incredibly useful (unless it's already a tutorial, i haven't made it to the advanced ones yet).
edit: useful, not useless

Hey ahmed,
This is another awesome flash thing you have done. You have to give us the inside scoop on how you created the save feature ;)
Cheers!

That is totally awesome Ahmed!!!! But i think i found a bug, when you click next or previous reall really quick the pictures seem to overlap each other, but i guess you dont need to fix this since not many ppl will browse through it quickly

June 24th, 2003, 11:26 PM
I had a problem with the colors though. When I put in, say: "#some 6 digit number", it either doesn't show up or it's just black. Am I colorblind or just retarded?

Hi,
Nice work!
You may be interested in looking at something quite similar we did wich is in :
http://www.channel4.com/smartstuff/
Launch 'the block' and go to the 5Th floor where you make your 'nano creation'. Browse the entries in the gallery in the same site.
And again, nice work!

I added a color picker i found on flashcomponents.net.. this should make it much easier now :)
reverendflash
June 25th, 2003, 03:49 PM
way cool.
just noticed one thing... when I hit CTRL Z to undo my last step, the colors change... if I were drawing a blue sea, for instance, with a red boat, then hit undo, the boat sometimes became blue, sometimes the sea became red...
just a heads up..
lots of fun tho...

Mr Genious strikes again :beam: Awesome work!
Ahmed, may I request a change? ;) How about a little text box where you can enter the number of an entry and it goes straight to it? Instead of having to scroll through 70 odd entries? Would be cool :thumb:

I have a question ahmed... how did you incorporate that component into your movie. i have it downloaded and installed and everything, but I can figure out how to get my MCs to change colors :(

June 28th, 2003, 11:02 AM
Hey ahmed!
Really awesome. My entry is number 88, and for some reason I am only seeing a few of the bazillion colors I used. Was it done to decrease file size? If so, that's cool. If not, it may be a bug or something :)
Cheers!

I installed the component through the extension manager. Drag and drop and components from the components pane, give an instance name of 'cp' and have this code on the timeline where it's placed:
cp.onRelease = function() {
trace(this.getRGB())
} =)
