What is the max web fps?

I've always noticed how much slower my swfs become when embedding them in a web browser. Is there a fps limit for web browsers when it comes to flash? or does it automatically just take a hit because it's embedded? I've noticed it when using any framerate (30, 60, etc). Thanks.

nothing to do with the player.
web browsers put a limit on cpu processing.
Something that adobe themselves have said they can't/won't do much about, since it would involves working around measures put in by webbrowsers (which they don't want to do)
