Hi.
Im making business cards for a couple of my friends that I make websites with, and I've came up with this idea.
http://www.wgtour.com/bohner/work/card/card.png
Keep in mind that it's just a rought concept of graphics and typography just to show the basic idea.
Here are some things that I was thinking of adding/changing in the design:
On the card recievers side (left side of the picture):
- on one side of the card, add a grayed out male thumb, and on the otherside a female thumb
- add "place thumb here/grab here" in the center of the dotted thumb shape
I know it's a little wacky, but it's creative is it ? =P
Btw. our company is named "Druid Multimedia". I know, I know, unfortunately I wasn't in the team when they picked the name, so for now the name will stay, but I don't intend to incorporate any druid-like, fantasy etc. shapes/motives in the design.

Its a little plain right now. Draw a Druid on the front vector style and move your name and your position to the bottom right and make the druid media larger.
:fab: don't intend to... hmm... try to intend to
//edit, no don't continue the way your going.
doctor_funk, awesome idea down there.

It would be really funny if you guys took yourselves too seriously AND made a druid fantasy business card. You could take each members portrait photo, then design each card like one of those role-playing card games where your skills(programming and design) are laid out on the card with your strengths and weak points. Then your hit points are your phone numbers or something.
Still, I like your concept now and it's pretty cool. I would recommend experimenting with the type some more, maybe make it wrap around the finger marks or make it look like a proper instructional illustration indicating where to place your finger when receiving the card.

As I said, please dont judge the typography, layout and the graphics, because it's just a 10min concept. I think that I've even screwed up the dimensions of the card, but I'll fix that next time.
I just want to know if I should continue this concept, or make something simpler. Does it fit as a busniess card for people working in that line of work?

That would be nice, but I'm not that good at creating portraits, let alone fantasy ones. Plus I don't like that style, I like a clean/minimalisty approach to webdesign, and unfortunately Im the only graphics guy in my team.

Oh well. In that case, have a look at this link, I'm sure you'll find it inspiring(to say the least):

I think you have a good concept, if you don't actually want us to look at the design, then it's a little tricky to give you a good critique or push you in the right direction. I can just say simply, "yes, that is a good concept". End of critique.

good concept. however, the proper way to receive a business card is with two hands side by side. they might take it as an insult. (haha. You have to think about every possible client). I like doctor funks suggestion but that depends on the type of clients u want to target.

Well, if i'm not judging color, type, layout. Concept is a little weak, reminds me of rolling a cigarette. yuck! filthy habit :thumb2:

After I've given it some more thought, I've decided to not use this idea. I'm gonna try to take a more basic approach to it, nothing too creative.
Btw. what is the standard size of a business card? Wikipedia gives me 85.60 × 53.98, but it looks kinda wierd.
