Nested Templates (sort of)

I didn't have any luck finding what I needed in the forums.
I was wondering if you can put an existing template "inside" another template. The two are totally unrelated and use different CSS. I'm thinking that's where I'm running into trouble...
I know this isn't a lot of information so if you need more let me know.

No luck with the ajax/javascript. I guess I need to make a new template using two existing templates, if that's even possible...
