So, I don't really know what to say about this.

100 or so final year students from Wimbledon College of Art will be displaying their wares of the last 3 years, over the next week or so. They asked me to build a site for them.

This is the biggest project I've ever undertaken, and I think I'm fairly pleased with it. I have to say that the vast majority of time was spent on development, rather than design, which I think is slightly apparent, but I've learned a whole lot from it, mainly - a) normalise your data, and b) people can generally not be given the benefit of the doubt that they will be able to follow simple instructions.

There's definately some tweaks that need to be made here and there, but having been up for the last 50 hours finishing it off, I'm leaving those for you and the client to find :beam:

Also, I agree the pink is probably too harsh, but after they printed 500 posters/lanyards/postcards at #ED008C, I didn't have much choice. I might sneakily try and tone it down gradually.

Ok, I never understood why things like this happen. Since they are an "Art College" don't they have someone capable of doing a web site ? It's just weird, you study "art", i guess they even studied multimedia once, and you pay someone to do "your job" ? Weird...

Regarding the site, really nice bro ! Simple and clean, luvin' the pink and the simplicity of the site ! Great job and congrats ! :thumb:

Only one little thing. The upper gradient ( the bg gradient i mean ) seems a bit bright. Make it a bit darker so it won't stand out that much. ;)

Thanks! :D

Yeah, I kind of thought that at first, but these are 'Theatre' art disciplines, so it's mainly set-design/costumes/sculpting/illustration (hand) etc. There's some really awesome artists across a pretty broad spectrum. I think there's only a couple of places in the country that run these courses.

Plus this way, I get cash.

Edit: Yeah, I was unsure of the gradient. I have two monitors at home which seem to differ wildy in tone, which, coupled with sleep deprivation, offers whole new depths of poor colour choice.

some very interesting works in there!!

i really like the web site!! pink is not a bad color at all... depends how it is used and what colors are used with it (i.e complimentary, mono, etc). there is nothing i would change for the site, mainly because the way you designed it seems to "fit" and adapt to what an arts expo website might be like in someone's mind.
not being an arts student myself, but a business and IT. it was pleasing for me to go through the site and still have a good feel about it.
the gray you used, is a dark version of what our arts building at uni is... all gray, and all concrete, with people's work here and there, so this site works really well!!! nice work :thumb2:
