Could you please use better thread titles in the future ?
And stop using plzz. It does not mean please. If you want to say please, say please and don't bastardize it to plzz.

i am a new user so 1. i did not know there was an appropriate way to write thread titles, and 2. i wasnt aware my spelling/grammar was being focused on, seeing as though i am seeking help on a flash cs3 issue and not how to spell.

I was actually having the same problem. I came across the tutorial this morning and have been trying to get it right for hours!

That tutorial looks pretty old. Are you using a Flash file with an actionscript 1 profile? It maybe be that you are working in AS3 and some of the functionality in AS is now different..( I have not used AS3 yet however)

thank you for your reply. actionscript 3.0 was being used, and the only other option was 2.0, which i tried just then and actually worked
once again thank you dail
