It got me thinking about how it was done... this is what I think:

1. when you click 'turn flex' they switch the image to play a video (.flv with alpha channel?) of a 3d animation.
2. the road and trees are masked images.
3. im confused about the flowers..but I think they are videofiles...?
4. the rest (animals, menu, etc) seems to be animated images.

That site is awful. A terrible user experience. Oooh flashy 3D ... but massive load times (that seem to hang at certain % loaded for ages) and then i just got to a bit which basically said "Undefined" on everything. The 3D graphics aren't even that good ....

I agree, that's a really terrible site... even the "video" of the designers POW of the car design is bad... I don't what it is exaclty, but the entire experience irritated me for some reason.

I can't believe what I'm reading! Another thread with some guys saying a site is terrible and the worst ever posted in cool sites. Get real. This is creative and well produced and a site most of us could never dream of being able to produce.

It isn't that great. Granted it's better than I can do graphically, but it doesn't flow well and is choppy. Long load times, etc. The animations aren't that great either =/

I liked the site alot. I think how the did the loading could have been more intuitive, by breaking the site up. But it is prett creative and a good branding experience. Which I am sure the purpose of the site. Not sure how folks thought it was terrible (besides load times).

Haha man, it always seems like people jump on the bandwagon of hating or liking a site here. Seriously, it has some design problems maybe. But for someone that doesn't know what the **** is going on in the background, it's a fun site. If my mom went to this site, she'd be impressed. I think that's what they were going for, as opposed to pleasing designers.

comon we are particularly discussing design here.. none of us are either going to tell the designer how good /bad it is done. Its just a discussion between designers about a particular work. If someone like that kinda design, thats ok but we can definitely show them the better ones floating on the web

Id say a lot of people here on kirupa has made more "accomplished" sites than this. Get real yourself. Dont stare yourself blind on video and big names like zie spaceship. It doesnt make a great site.
