Hey all,

I have my website which i'm developing and it's been done 95% in AS2.0
Anyway anybody got any Crits where my BG Image will be random....and or loose it completely and put some vector illustrations on the back.

Also no content is final and where my our work thing pops up by the bottom that is where the work will appear :)

Ok so hopefully getting good Crits...Here is the LINK:

Quite nice, love the preloader but I'm not feeling the background... What's with that image ? Hmmm, weird, it reminds me of the magazines from the 80''...

By the way, what on earth is with that margin ? Dude, that's my style...
Keep your hands away from padding and margins... :| I bite you know...

hi flashman,

i really like the site. i like the transitions and the layout and the bouncy feel to it all.
a couple of things that i think:

1.maybe lose the blurred black background to the load bar. I think it would look nicer the white just on the green background.
2. im not a huge fan of the background image for the main page...i know you said it would be random..but what sort of images would be in the library. I dont like it as is. I would like to see a plain background like on the intropage...i quite like the colour of that too.
3.i dont like the font on the feedback form.
4. i think the colour scheme of the text could be re thought. I would try it with the different (green) backdrop and see if it works..cos it might. At the moment im not sure it does.
5. In the work section i think where the screen is white it should be another colour that suits the background...maybe some sort of light brown????i dunno.

overall...very nice.

Hmmm... I kinda expected more from you. No offense though, just what I felt.

Major bug: If you click on "our work" that big white area rolls up. Then when I clicked on "contact us" the big white blank area remained there. Why? Also, it stays for anything after that. Kinda boomy.

All I can say is, it's very minimal. If that's what you were going for, very well done. Also, it takes too much load time for the content it displays. Maybe those photo bgs aren't such a good idea.

Or even if you want those bg images, load them dynamically rather than preloading them before you show actual content.

:)

yeh that major bug is not fixed yet as it's still in development i haven't got around to it...also sir phoenix i know what you mean the more i look at it i don't like it that much myself...but the only thing letting me done (with my ideas is my design skills) not the best lol...but working on them.

Also yes i will be changing that text in the contact form and also...i'll be throughing up some ideas and background colours this weekend...so hopefully it should look better and have a better feel to it.

But believe me it's no where near finished and I even expect/know i can do better than this...just been busy and lacking in ideas recently.

Type blindly on the site the word "login" and you'll see a login section appear obviously, in this section it will be eventually a live editor for my website and hoepfully later on i can package it and put up on ffiles and kirupa for anyone interested.

Cheers

Also one last point i'm going for a very minimalist look for the overall site.

And too flasher i love using that padding and margin thing on most of my projects lol i never knew you did it...i hope we can share ;)

I was just joking... lol, I'm not the inventor of that style...
But I do bite ( i wasn't lieing about that part ).

At a quick glance, very nice. Is there a way to close the white box at the bottom once it pops up?

I like the slider, but I think I would move the content over some. You have a lot of empty real estate.
navigation: simple and clean
framerate: appropriate
background: not really feeling. the pic is nice, but not relative and is too dark IMO. if you are going to keep it, ease up on the gradient
transition: works, could be a little more elaborate. but sometimes something to elaborate can get irritating after too many times.

But again, I like it.

when I press our work, and press let's say web it pops up anD everything. Wh nI then change section the buttons (web, print etc) dissapear, but the white box is still there. Pretty annoying, cause all of a sudden half the site doesn't show!

Otherwise I like it... I might have to agree on the background though, I don't really know :D

yeh that our work and white area does work...i just haven't added a close button and the functionality that it will close if you click onto a different section.

and the background yeh i have had a few people not liking that so i'll rethink the background aswell...but it's not finished yet soo still more to come :)

works well, I like all of the site apart from the sounds on the navigation...I'm listening to music and don't want any other sounds messing with my songs...if you know what I mean.

Like the bouncy feel to everything.

Let the text take up room. Bunching it up in a scrollbar loses the feeling of freedom.

Loading:
- Takes way too long to load, and the drop shadow on the loading bar is ugly and way too overdone.

Main:
- Did you actually win any of the awards sites you have listed at the bottom. Because if you didn't, that's just wrong.
- Header colors = Ugly
- We don't need a clock, in the upper right hand corner, a clock is already built into almost every OS, if I need to see the time, I'll look to the left of the start bar.
- Bounce effect/transitions are way to fast and jerky. And after I check the portfolio, the white section at the bottom won't go away.

Besides that, looks nice.

Hey Esherido,

Those award sites at the bottom are going to end up in a links section which is my fav links etc...and also i haven't won those awards...i haven't submitted my site to them yet...so hopefully in the end will.

The portfolio section is still being worked and that bug will be fixed.
And i'm thinking about changing the background so i'll do some changes and post back with a new version soon :)

-- DM -- with the text i'll re work somethings once i fix my background.
