Hi Friends,

After design and coding for version 1 of my site >> (http://b.1asphost.com/kumarahir/v1)
I have started for the next version of it >> (http://b.1asphost.com/kumarahir/v2).
And i'm starting with my small portfolio.

It's actually built using the concept of XML gallery but at multiple levels.
Will soon be adding more features.

Regards

1. Doing a kiosk style site, you should have the background as a gradient, not the actual site content.
2. The giant google search bar header is something that needs to go.
3. The colors are good, nice font choices as well. The size of the type is also good.
4. The "Dotster" button thing should be underneath your kiosk, not on the top of it.
5. Instead of having the info of the section slide out from the right when you click on the red arrow, perhaps have it fade in on mouse over.

Otherwise nice job!

The image examples are very blurry. It needs more structural divisions too.

The thumnails are very blurry, large and colourless.veen sum picture are not trimmed properly. Try adding more element to it. even numbers 1,2,3,4,5 to different subsections are not distinct. The overall feel is good. Try reducing the size of Loading MC a little and remove blurr/ try changing its color to white(maybe). The font selection is nice on the right side. what font have you used on the right hand menu. try changing the the Heading "Kumar Ahir" to the same font , but a larger size.

Sometimes I wish there was some crazy science which would let designers and programmers fuse into one omnipotent being just for short periods of time to create awesome sites. I keep meeting these incredible designers who can't program to save their lives and amazing programmers who couldn't imagine their way out of a box. Figure out a way to fuse them all together and you could take over the world.

I think there's some awesome programming in this example, but it needs a massive amount of design infusion. Right now, there is no concept, only functionality. There's nothing wrong with that, but it needs to go from where it is now, to something that makes us all go, "wow, that makes sense, looks cool and relevant, and functions great!". I think you're halfway there with this.

Hi all,

Thanks for all the suggestions. This were the notes I was looking for.
Doctor_funk you are quite right about designer-developer combo.

Well though me being a developer by nature I am on my way for becoming a designer too.
And as I said the work is in progress. Soon will update the site
You might want to look at my earlier version of the site,
