New Kirupa Theme !?

A long overdue theme that I've just finished. It's basically Vista meets Kirupa and has a sexe' bebe'. Right now it comes in only blue, but I'll try to impliment what Kirupa has done with his new header. This hasn't been officially approved, and the K-man hasn't been notified yet, but here it goes!

Right now just the header is done. Everything else will be finished if accepted.

Err... I know I have to fix the font, but I'll just have to steal the one K-man has now.

I'm not feeling that white "reflection/glow" and neither the drop shadow on kirupa.com ... Not bad, but it could use a bit of detail...

Yeah, I'm having a bit of trouble with the text. As far as the reflection goes, I'll see what I could do. The glow thing, is actually a Mouse Over effect. I'll post before and after rollover images soon.

I hope not. I like the revised theme the best and if he could just go through and reskin everything with nice background image it would be nice... you know really make it feel all vista'ie (but i don't know how skinning this thing actually works).

Btw you forgot the black border on the top right of the header image.

the search box does look awkward cut like that. and i'm not feeling the gradient, are there darker spots in there?

There's a little added layer with the extra light/dark gradients where I tried to liven up the overall gradient... now I see that looks horrible :D

About the whole links thing, I want to keep this simple, like the new revised theme.

The black border is missing, because it was applied only to the "glass".

The search bar ends abruptly under that black corner. But that corner thing was just a non-needed little extra BAM, so it's gone :D.

I was thinking of making just a header, but what the hey, a full theme is on its way :D

BTW... I just noticed I use :D in just about every post I make :(... :D

Looking better, but are you using inner glow or satin ? Because it give me that weird feeling as if it's dirty ( that dark blue feels "dirty" with the lighter blue << the glow >> ).

I'm using Inner Glow. And I see what you're saying. I'll try to lighten it up a bit.

I think these are going to be the final. I'm pretty satisfied with all of them. And the brigher ones look horrible without inner glow, if anyone wanted to know :D. I think I pretty much pwn web2.0 glass :D.

I think the aliasing on the text is a bit strange for some reason?
and the blue inner shadow on the search bar would be more hip if it was toned down. :)

Don't know about the text, but I'm web2.0-fied out for one sitting. I'll just take off the inner shadow, since it's practically useless now.

The header is looking great but i'm not sure about the font ( Kirupa looks quite hmm, plain ) and i feel too much glow on the logo...

I'm thinking of making a new logo. Same orange, new look :D (web2.0-fied).
The glow IS too much, but it'll change.

And I don't what the heck is going on, I can't find a good font for this. Can anyone suggest one?

Hey K-man, I wanted to make this like the header you currently have, where anyone could choose which colors they want with the little box things. Have you uploaded the flash file for those who want to make their own? Or should I just send over the project file, because honestly, I don't know how the heck to code all of this :D.

The blue kirupa 2.0 slate looked better imo. And the text field needs the shadow.

That font is completely awful, you're blending two styles (two very played out styles) into one monstrosity. Also what is KIRURA? I'm not trying to be a jerk but the most recent one is just bad.

You were getting somewhere around the middle where you had the white text on the colored backgrounds. Though the text could use some work such as making it thicker or a little stronger, and the gradient could also use some work, at least it was consistent.

Take a step back and perfect what was working :)

mmmm dont deviate from the original vista aero too much. It's a great style by itself, and by adding strange twists to it - it medicores up
