Site Redesign

Hey all-
I'm finishing up a redesign of a client's site. I'd love some feedback... Especially in the areas of logo design and polish. I'm really wondering if there are some things I can polish on this site.

I don't like the right hand alignment and the nav is hard to see.

hey, it looks fine to me:) i would just put maybe a black 50% or so opacity bar behind the navigation.

The site itself is not incredibly exciting, but I think you did a GREAT job with the header and footer images. Very nice and love the red guitar. I think you should try out one of the FLash tutes here on Kirupa for your gallery and take it to the next level. You need something to spice it up a little more, the footer and header are great, but you can go further. Nice work.

Have to agree with Dr. Funk. The header and footer are great, I think you should think a bit more about adding some other design feature through the body of the page to spice it up a bit.

nice design...but the headers tend to get lost in the banner image like the word "NEWS" — then again it could be my monitor
also for contact page use a FLASH form also with the emails Trust me! it helps boost user / customer feedback...And look on kirupa to learn how especially since u are doing pHP
also might need more typography options when ur copy extends longer in the page..
but i like the red guitar motif!!!!

It's just the right align that is buggin me (and it's buggin me a little too much :P). Otherwise, it's a very cool design.

yeah it just looks odd cos its aligned to the right. I appreciate that its good to try things like this but the reason its not done over millions of sites is because it simply doesnt look good, and the fact that the human eye reads from left to right so the user has to focus differently on designs like this.

Navigation when hovered over kinda gets lost as red on black. Looks nice though :)

So what I'm hearing most is to change alignment and create more "stand out" navagation links. I'll definatley work on that.

I think I will add a PHP email contact (probably not flash). As for the gallery, in the latest version I've added Lightbox 2 (AJAX).

Also, incidentally the client opted to replace the logo with a "comic-sans" like font :d:
Go figure... I'll let you guys know how the revision goes.
