Hi
I could do with some fresh eyes & feedback on this site mock-up (not finished yet), nothing ground breaking I know as the client wants it simple and free of too many bells and whistles and is set on the colours

I like the idea, although when entering the site it's a bit hard to figure out what to press to continue... make it more intuitive... About the actual site, really sweet, i'm liking it, but one thing you should change is your navigation menu... Put it somewhere else because sometimes, the picture borders overlap the text and it makes the menu literally invisible... Maybe place the menu in a banner ( i mean a thick line that runs from left to right , 100% width of the page... something similar to the bottom thing where you have the copyright and tel number placed... but on the top ).

Anyways, looking good till now, good job. ;)

Nice site, it's pretty cool. Intro is a little confusing, but past that, it functions fine.

I dig it. I think the beginning intro shouldn't get SO big as it does now, it's a bit overwhelming.

Otherwise, the only prob I found was with the resize function. The shadow box resizes at a differnt speed than the image inside the box (maybe one has a tween attached and the other does not? Anyway, it creates this effect when you resize the window. It corrects itself but for a second it looks wonky.

Oh, also. I think you should add a next / previous arrow in the bottom right that advances the pictures to the next one. It's a bit awkward for right handed people to keep scrolling up to the top left, and it's kinda annoying there is no next button. I'd make them small and discrete, and have the right side of the next / prev buttons line up approximately with the right side of the shadow box

It looks nice.

Intro is a little confusing.

Its a nice clean site, the content isn't far enough below the nav or the nav isn't high enough. apart from that its a good site.

I agree with what a lot of people have said. I like it. It is simple and sweet, but the buttons do get in contact with the box which should not happen. Also, the buttons have that glitch where if you find "the spot" you can make the button continuously loop from onRollOver to onRollOut animations. The fix for this is just have a transparent box within the button that cover's the rollOver position as well as the normal position so that the only time the button changes is when someone moves their mouse off the button, or on it.

Sorry for the long reply. XD

Wonderful color palette. Wonderfully simple. Blatantly undersatndable navigation.

A freaking plus.

great job

Crank the framerate. There is a bit of strobing in the transitions :)

@ FI4SH’ER
Some nice feedback and ideas/suggestions, not sure what to do with the intro so I’ve just added a setinterval to enter the site for the time being, was at a bit of a lose and just threw that together in a mad 5 minutes, been looking at it for so long now and trying things I think I’ll take a break and come back to it tomorrow, cheers.

@ Doctor_Funk
As above, thanks

@BlueEyedMonster
Thanks for going to the trouble of posting the screen shot, I’ll have a look at the code and get that glitch sorted out, will also add next / previous buttons, thanks for that suggestion.

@JeffOnFire
It was different when Funk and FI4SH’ER looked at it hence the comment from Funk.

@Dentricrio
This seems to only be a problem with a smaller screen size than I’m currently on (19”) have the same problem with the picture buttons too, but I’ll get that worked out soon enough, thanks for bringing it to my attention.

@RonH
I didn’t notice that until you said, thanks for the tip on how to correct it.

@Mongushu
Thanks man

@ DM
Cranking as we speak

I’ll post an update once I’ve sorted it all out

Done a few adjustments with the navigation as pointed out, added the next/previous buttons although not inline with the right hand side of the shadowed box as suggested.
I did give go but found it bloody annoying with them moving to edge of the box all the time, seeing as the box resizes.

Also added the get date blah blah blah to change the photo on the about page to dust,day and night shots of the same picture.

Anyway I thought I’d post the update, any other suggestions welcome

I don't think the prev / next arrows look right. I'd try something like this

http://i11.tinypic.com/66255eh.jpg so they are consistent with the other buttons.

Nice and clean looking site!
I understand you've already moved the menu around a bit (?) but on my 1920 x 1200 screen it's too far away from the centre of attention. On that resolution there's a good 300px clearing on the top and bottom, and 500-600px to the edges, and then it's easy to lose sight of the menus. Being a site for an architectural photographer, i guess there'll be a lot of people viewing the site in such resolutions.
