When I did this my teacher liked the color filled logo, but I am not sure...wondering if anyone had an opinion.
Thanx

Not bad :) I'm not a fan of the font "picuria" is written in though. Doesn't seem to match the curly E very well. Try putting it in italics, I think that'll look better.

^^ What he said ^^
I like the dark logo. The white one isn't as memorable to me. The color (and font) makes me think of italian food, if that means anything.
That said, there is no reason they can't both be used. The logo on white will be best for business cards, etc. whereas the color logo would look better on a website or sign.

Generally I like them both, but the darker version just edges it for me.
And I'd echo what Voetsjoeba said in that the 'E' and 'picuria' fonts don't work together quite enough, although they're not far off.
One thing to be aware of with logos though, is that they are often reproduced at rather small sizes i.e. business cards & letterheads. The 'strapline' may not be legible at such small sizes.
Having said that, in the real world you could always specify that you should omit the 'strapline' in those cases within a brand style guide.

It's kinda funny actually. If you squint, it looks like the shape of a real stomach with the tube on the right side. :)

Ok love everyones comments - Thank you
So I made a few changes - made picuria in italic
and also... I have always thought that the colors gave the "feeling" of italian food...
It was not on purpose.. but the project was for packaging design and the packages were sause, pasta and rice. So I tried some of the other colors in my palette. I am considering changing it - only because one of the other logos - share the colors...
Wondering if the similarity matters???
Thanks all for the help.. On deadline for interview.

I think the similarity is fine, IMO, I would just change the black's line to a different color.

Agree with Will on choice of logo, not to sure on the “innovated gourmet” bit though, doesn’t sound right to me for some reason. I like the one you had before in the first post “innovative local gourmet” or try something like “An Innovation in gourmet”
Really nice logo though

Looking really nice, only one thing: If it would have not been for the title ( the thread's title ) I would have never guessed that the logo is for a food store. Seeing that bottle, I first thought it's for a Pub or Restaurant. I'm not really sure if it's intuitive enough...
And lol, the name is even misleading... "Epicuria"... In romanian "picatura" means "drop" ( like a rain drop or water drop ), and "a picura" is the verb... I would have never guess it's a food store by just looking at the logo... I was 99% sure it was a logo for a restaurant or pub...

Thanks all - I'm going with the red one!
The "Epicuria" is a play on the word - Epicurian - noun- a person who takes pleasure in fine food and drink.
I see how it could be a restaurant - but hey...
