Looks good. My only critique would be that there are too many textures going on. The background of the site and the background of the content area don't really flow to me. I'd make the content area bg less obvious, and something that can be easily repeated for when you code it.

my biggest complaint then was that it didn't seem to fit with the authors style but I think you've dealt with that nicely in this new site. It more than matches the book covers that obviously the author has to ok at some point so yeah, I think it matches the covers and the authors style.

My one problem with this new layout would be the middle bit where the text would be displayed. Because of it's opacity and the background behind it I do think it's a little difficult to read the text there already. I'd lose the opacity/texture and just make it a solid colour, maybe even stick with the colour you have now. Font could be a touch bigger as well.

good improvements though, well done :beam:

textures are too harsh, and the body font would be nicer as a serif for something like this.

not bad, but the sidebar fonts are horrible. change it into a more flowing serif:D

sgomez84, when you start building this in Wordpress, don't forget one thing. The ultimate test of a Wordpress blogger is rolling their own from scratch. Please try that first before sandboxing another theme, it's a rewarding experience. I'm working on one right now for a new design and travel blog and I'm learning so much.
