Mediashock - yes, both with the Actions window and any of the drawing tools in Fireworks. I found the performance in parts of Fireworks CS3 and Flash CS3 to actually be worse than their version 8 counterparts in Vista.

I really hope it is more of a video driver (nVidia in my case) issue than one with Adobe.

Cheers!

Turning off Aero should help

I'm on XP, and I got CS3 a couple weeks ago, it DOES run a little slower, even for me, idk why, When I'm drawing, my mouse almost lags a bit, but in flash 8/flash 9 AS3 preview, it didn't do that. I only have 512 MB RAM, so it is probably taking more RAM then 8 would be my guess.

It's all a part of the greater marketing plan to get you to upgrade your computer hardware - the "yawn" starts now.

I have just came across the solution to this problem. I had major problems with my actionscript skipping around and lagging while scrolling thru code with flash cs3 and Vista.

solution =
*right click either your flash cs3 shortcut icon or flash.exe file
*choose the "Compatability" tab
*check the box stating "Run this program in compatability mode for : Windows XP (Service Pack 2)"

Mine works flawlessly now, thank goodness. I was soooo close going back to XP because of the headache this problem was causing!

Hope this helps anyone that is running into the same problem.

I tried this and the XP compatibility mode did help - but I now get Flash.exe crashes *ALL THE TIME*! Like 20 crashes a day - it is infuriating! Anyone have any performance tips/tweaks above and beyond killing aero and working in XP compatibility mode?
