Me and a guy from work were talking about comedians, and got onto these guys. Made me remember how much I loved that show and how much I regret not taping it...

I think my favourites would be Jarvis and History Today. :) Oh, and M Khan. :P
Good evening. Once again I am joined by Professor F J Lewis, overitus professor of history at All Souls' College,Oxford. I understand that some viewers felt that last week we rather skated over the topic of Great Britain 1931 -38, The Austerity years. I can only offer my apologies and pledge that Professor Lewis and myself shall make every endevour to fully explore tonight's topic of discussion, the 1905 Sebastopol Uprising. Professor Lewis, do you feel as many do, that Sebastopol was indeed the birthplace of the Russian Revolution?

It was back in the early 90's when it was broadcast. I think I must have been about 12, but with a very adult sense of humour. :P

It was just the funniest comedy sketch show ever. But the BBC haven't repeated it or released it on video / DVD. :( I'm kicking myself for not recording them when they were one.

Punt: Horse racing is a sport unique in the fact that it exists entirely and solely for the purposes of betting. Because when you think about it, take away the betting, and what have you got?

[Cut to race track with a race in progress]
Announcer They're under starters orders and they're away, and straight into the lead goes a horse! Followed by another horse and lots of horses all running very fast!

And here comes a horse overtaking another horse and there's a brown one, followed by a grey one, and there's a black one with a white bit, and they're all running along, and one of them's going into the lead, and this is tremendously exciting because at the end we're gonna know which of these twelve horses can run faster than the others, and the crowd is cheering on the big horse they'd love to win for the sake of the horse's own personal esteem, and as they come into the final straight the crowd is shouting, "Come on! Let's see the physical limit to which equine quadrupeds can go!" So as they come to the line, its the grey one from the one with the white bit and the brown one and the winner goes forward to the semi-finals where he meets an antelope, a leopard and a caribou.
