Just completed this site for a client: http://www.tristargames.com Alright it's not nike.com or saab but for I hope you can take it into context that it's produced by 1 person and is fully flash. Also the site is managed using XML so the client can update the content. Thanks and feedback is welcome. -

This should be posted in the Showcase and Critiques forum. ;)

Right now I'm a bit busy to do a full critique of mine lol, but I've noticed that a few of the buttons at the bottom of the site don't work very well with the rest of the design - due to the use of the bevel look you gave them. Also, the "Tristar" games logo looks pixelated with that glow added to it. Furthermore, the fonts you've used are too much like system default ones (maybe they are?), try to find other fonts that work well or get a system default font and customise it a little.

Sorry I know that I haven't been that specific, but I will when I get some time. :)

Scanlines are too heavy
Nav font is too blurry
Glows are too harsh
Needs more colour other than blue
From what I can see, it would be more effective as a html site

Your using flash maybe have the videos play in flash rather than download.

For me the site is too dark and for that type of site i expect a lighter/cleaner look.

The bevels are way too overused (Reminds me of the first day i had photoshop) and the content is very hard to focus on but the transitions are cool and work well.

If i was you i would rethink the colour scheme and trim down the bevels a bit. :)

the flash is quite technical and engaging, but the skin is not so appealing :)

Thanks to everyone for your feedback. I agree in hindsight I would have reduced the bevels down. As for the glow depth and brightness this was something the clients liked. You have to remember that I didn't have a free for all on this site, it went through 15 pre-designs to get to that stage (i.e. to get to a design the clients liked) which included the blue colour choice.

As for the videos, the client required them to download and not play. Also many of them are large file sizes, so it makes more sense.

I agree with the fonts comment, I have a habit of using Arial, Courier, Helvetica, Times in my designs as they have a sense of consistency and are usually foolproof, due to their history of readability.

Thanks to all who have commented and I will post my next design here as it seems you offer a good critique. Thanks.
