A message was conceived, and the goal was to convey that message with the least amount of visuals required.

Very nice work bleutuna, you are definitely great at Vector work.
And to me it looks light it's going on night time, which means the MOON is white (well aside from the blue hue)

Yes, it's night and that's the moon :)
I wanted someone else to make the connection, so I could see if I had done the job wrong :D

I think you conveyed your point perfectly :) The picture almost tells a full story.

i think if you added a small hint of blue to the moon that would be alot more powerful. Because of that age old phrase wishing on a blue moon. Meaning a sad moon or a sad day. Just my opinion.....But yes the message is there. And the pic is versatile if you changed the colors to like vibrant reds and yellows it could mean the opposite,.....once again JMO

bleutuna,
being a design major myself in school the image is very good. and if the minimal approach is the goal you did a very good job. the expression on the mans face in the way that his eye is closed tells the whole story. i think i would even go as far as to remove the hearts entirely, it reads too much into it. I think that the same effect could be captured without them.
My advice, do both versions, put them side by side and then see which you like better.
... just my 2 cents...
