really stupid question

this is gonna sound pretty stupid i am only just gettin started with flash and stuff and i need to know where u put action script i know all the basics i just need to know that i think

If you're using Flash 5, you can double-click a frame to add actionscript to that frame or you can right-click a button on the stage and select actions.

Keep in mind that if you're adding an actionscript to a frame, you have to make it a keyframe first.
