We've just all been let back into the building, having been evacuated because of fire. This meant that I've had to stand outside for the past 30 minutes in the boiling heat, in a bloody suit.

Not to mention that I'm wearing (foolishly so) probably the most impractical shoes in the world ever for standing up in, let alone attempting to evacuate a building in case of an emergency...

It's so hot out there! Honestly, British weather is either baking or monsoon-like. :sure: I'm melting. And contemplating sticking my head under the water cooler.

So that's where we have *our* weather from!
CURSE YOU ENGLAND!!!! :P :P

just kidding

*laughs as kit sticks head under water cooler*

I know what you mean about the weather! It never seems to get it right. Or anywhere close to right for that matter! I wonder if theres a scientific reason for it?

It's gorgeous outside... :) This is usually a good thing, except that a suit isn't the greatest thing to be wearing in it. :sure:

I ought to work from home. :beam:

TheOrangeOne
June 16th, 2003, 11:08 AM
but would you ACTUALLY work?

I'd love to work from home. You could getaway with loads of stuff! you could listen to your fave music whilst working. You can watch the telly. You cansit in a COMFY chair. You can have breaks when you want. You can work naked! (lets stop there shall we?......)

Well the reason I know is that we're in the middle of 5 different weather fronts, all coming in from different directions.
Never checked up on it (could never be bothered), but I did hear it from a geography teacher

So was the building really on fire then?

Cheers!

Yes it was, apparently. We couldn't see, but three fire engines turned up and lots of firemen ran around.

It wasn't me.

Rats.

You got me on that one. :P

Thankfully the fire was no-where near my office - I probably set the record for longest time taken to exit the building in 3 inch heels. :sure:

reverendflash
June 16th, 2003, 01:27 PM
I would've like to see that one...

I was amazed that Daniela Mercury was dancing all over the stage yesterday in 3" heels...

I've reached the conclusion that they're great as long as you don't intend moving from your chair all day. :)

But they do bring me up to a respectable 5ft 6, which is why I wear them. :P

June 16th, 2003, 01:31 PM
Does your Mum make him "wear the uniform" ?

Do you ever have women ask you to "don the uniform" for them?

If not, you might try to use that line in pubs... "hey, I've got a fireman's kit at home..."

Not all firemen are studly... I used to be one, and I am certainly not. :) That made me think of the driver for our engine company. At 5' 9" and 300+ pounds I am not sure you would refer to him as a "stud"

Cheers!

The economy in America makes this the wrong time to try to emigrate...

There's a lot of H1-B foreign nationals who are still getting the boot, since they don't have the internet jobs anymore...

75 here...

One of the best stretches of weather all year... Yesterday, at the show, it was very warm without the breeze, and no shade where I was, but everywhere else in town it was beautiful.

Tonite it will cool to around 55, then tomorrow is supposed to be gorgeous again... Too bad the Giants are out of town... :(
