This renders the display list after the event has completed. But is there anyway to force an update, say, in the middle of a FOR loop?

No… assuming that the middle doesn't become the end when you break out of it.

Then you need to take frames into account. That's why we have 'em - otherwise you'd have to display the frames in the middle of your loop before the timeline could advance - a major no no!

If you can have a 3d aquarium in flash... surely you can do something simple like this. Never know :D lol jk jk
