He only asked for a range... There is only one variable which he failed to mention; the currency. In Australia, you could expect to get between A$50,000 and A$120,000 a year...
That's like US$30,000 to US $80,000.

The lower limit would be for younger, less experienced developers, and the high limit would be for experienced individuals (like PHP project managers).
...The cost of living is probably lower in Australia, so you have to take that into consideration as well.
