Most popular party drinks...

My friend is throwing a party next Friday and I am trying to help him out. I don't drink very much at all and therefore, don't take much notice of what people drink at parties. However, we need to work out what drinks would be the most popular and therefore, needed the most...

I'm referring to alcoholic drinks of course :). We know we will need plenty of water but other than that, we're not really sure.

Any suggestions would be great.

yeah when I drink its vodka, pretty much always striaght or with a chaser. It depends on the crowd though too. Some just want beer, others want more hard liquor while others take whatever is available and is happy with it.

why has mineral water got a seal by date

it has been in the moutins for millions of year and they don't add any thing to it "that what the say" so why is it when you put it in a bottle it will only last for 6 weeks (-:

/me thinks it has something to do with bottling. and also, when it's in a mountain, or in a stream/river, it's flowing. so it doesnt go.. manky :) Also, apparently, water is better for you when out of a glass bottle as opposed to a platic bottle :P

It's "best to drink by date". I'm guessing that after being bottled for X amount of time, the plastic might start messing with the taste or something wierd like that.

I didn't know canned cokes could go bad until I tried one at my grandparent's last year. It was 3 years past the date, and it tasted like aluminum. Yummy.

naaah. If you buy some vodka dont buy Absolut. They do have some of the best ads with all those bottle shapes... but the vodka tastes like toilet disinfector...

A drink that goes down well and doesnt have too much alcohol for the lighthearted consists in peach syrup - half beer and half lemonade... (leeme get this straight. What I call lemonade is fizzling water with lotsa sugar - almost no lemon. Thats what we call it down here...)

Thanks for the tip :). And btw, I'm surprised you're still alive seeing as you have tried toilet disinfectant :P (otherwise, how would you know that the vodka tasted like that? ;)).

oh and if you can, get some kahlua as well. it goes well with vodka. it's my favorite chaser.

also you should try Seagram's 7 which is basically a mix of Seagram's ginger ale with some gin (forget the name right now). i'm sure you've heard of it. also if you can get a hold of grenadine you can make some really nice drinks with that.

for beer, i'd recommend Yuengling or Killian's Irish Red. I know i saw a 24 pack of Yuengling (bottles) for 15.69 somewhere. don't let the price fool you, it's a great beer.

which is true for most alcohols... The cheapest way I guess is with gin and the most expensive either by Champagne or hi Cognac brands... or whiskey....

Yeah - Vodka does taste bad but my last memory of Absolut is having a god **** bad breath the whole day after I had the party - no bubble gum or toothpaste was strong enough... Didnt do that with the other potato alcohols :beam:

nice c0cktails: i tasted one in prague called 'sperm' - it's whiskey cream (brand was 'Bailey's') with any citrus fruit (orange - lemon - lime) - it makes a funny semi solid c0cktail which has a look and feel of its name - not the taste tho...:trout:

You can make Tequila sunrise: Tequila - Orange Juice and Grenadine syrup in that order, twice as much alcohol than syrup... (btw doesn 'grenadine make sense to you - it's actually red fruits syrup - dont know the english name)..
DONT SHAKE/STIRR... Should look kewl.

Piña Colada: (gotta like coconut:)
pineapple juice
half as much white rhum
quarter as much coco cream (bit hard to find)
eigth as much fresh cream (whipped cream whatever it's called. Solid milk for me...)

I don't think I've ever seen grenadine but I recognise the name from some other alcoholic concoctions :). I'll make sure to try one of those (probably the tequila sunrise).

Rasberry Smirnoff and sprite is a favorite of mine, actually most vodka is!

It is kind of easier though just to get a generic beer like bud light or something and most will drink that!
