Hello everyone, I'm new to the forum and my friends call me EG. This is my first flash site so I'm still a n00b with flash. :trout:
Here is my site, please critique it and tell me what you think, thanks. :geek:

hi eg!
welcome to the forums!
anyhooo, its great for your first site, crisp, clean, and nice visuals.
one small gripe i have though, is that if i click a link, then change my mind in between, i have to wait for the section to load completely before i can even highlight a new button.
i'd suggest adding some sort of functionality that can allow for user indecisiveness.
oh - eg, one more thing, since you're new, i'd suggest reading up on the frequently asked questions here:
http://www.kirupaforum.com/forums/misc.php?s=&action=faq
:P:P

hahha thanks for the suggestion, orginally I had it so that the buttons were active all the time, but then it looked wierd clicking it and watching the panels jump back and forth so I added the disable function.

sexcellent, it's not a big deal; in fact i didn't even notice until i purposefully tested it.
i think your content is captivating enough for the user to want to see what loads without clicking another button in succession. :)

wish i could start as a n00b with 4k posts :trout:
wow impressive... as usual.. The one thing i dont like is your f (flash) logo at your splash page - just doesnt look like its a the right place
and your sound loops get boring after a while....
oh and, whats the use of the center screen ? (blue thingy with/ logo )?
eyeinfinitude
June 14th, 2003, 04:32 PM
Yes the sound loops do get boring after awhile, good thing I added the stop button for the sounds. :P
Oh and the center screen is for my logo.

lost showed me this version the other day -
all i know, is out of the 3 designs I have seen you make for your
site, this is BY FAR the best one. I was blown away at the last
one, but this gunmetal version is superb man. :!:
Your sites always have all the characteristics you preach to the
noobies here, so I honestly don't have any complaints. Visually
it's very stimulating and astounding. I never get bored during
the transitions, and that's really important to me in a flash site.
Basically, the reason I like this one so much, is I think it actually
fits you, your name, your identity, and from what I know, your
personality. Excellent job sir. http://www.unflux.com/bb/thumbsup.gif
Seeing this quality of work inspires me, always. Thanks for that,
cuz I've been needing a jumpstart lately. =)

Wow Unflux, that's probably one of the "bestest" compliments I've recieved so far! ahha you get 10 extra brownie points and the $.50 check is in the mail, spend it wisely. ;)
I'm sure there's others on this forum that gets tired of my jibberish and the stuff I preach, but I try to back it up as well with my work.
I'm glad you guys like it because I've spent countless hours cussing and swearing in front of the comp to get where I am now. :P
If you guys have any questions about my site, please direct them towards Lostinbeta, he's the one that makes it possible. He has helped me with a lot of the coding.

I only compliment what deserves to be complimented! Your site
rocks man, no question.
Brownie POINTS? You said BROWNIES!! No nuts tho ok?
50 cents?! that's all I get for all those nice things I said? hmmph.
Never working for YOU again, you cheapskate! :trout:

i don't.
good usability is so key to any good site IMO. You tend to see
and post similar things that I do, so a lot of times you take my
posts - so stop that! ;)
I'm glad you guys like it because I've spent countless hours cussing and swearing in front of the comp to get where I am now.
I know that time and place very well. It's definitely a love-hate
thing. I love the results, but sometimes I hate the process.

Well before I sit down in front of the computer, I sit somewhere quiet with a pencil, eraser and some paper and I start doodling away.
Once I get my ideas down on paper, that's when I start hacking away at the comp.
How I create stuff in Cinema 4D, I don't really know, I just sit down and I automatically do it. The things I create can only be learn through experimentation. I wish I could explain every step, but it would take forever because 1 step would require 2 more steps and so on...
Replode, my site is devided up into mulitiple swfs, I probably have atleast 20 swfs combined.

I don't know how to explain it, I modeled each piece in Cinema 4D then rendered each piece out seperately.
Next, I took each piece into PS and tweaked them. Finally I export each piece into Flash and pieced the interface back together like a jig saw puzzle.

I do have some swift 3D stuff that I made back in v2, but they're extremely too big in size to post. They're just some short animations but they're about 7 megs each.
