This is a banner w/logo for a website i'm working on at the moment, the website is about psychedelic trance music using css... tell me what you think.

that's gorgeous, but too ornate for a logo. If you took the strands and the title, vectored it alone with solid black, cut down the lines, and shrunk it down, then it's more reproducable and usability skyrockets.

Where's the logo? It's hard to see the "logo" w/ all the stuff goin on in the banner, post the logo up solo.

Which is a good indication that, as a logo, it has failed. Nice image though.

Ok thanks all for the comments, well the above image is NOT a logo, the post title is wrong, I realized this after opening the topic. This is a header image for the website I'm currently working on, the image however does contain the logo, which is green text in the middle with the mushroom.

I can't tell what it is. but the concept of whatever it is seems interesting. Just simplify everything, drop the effects, repost.

its interesting but the impact may be lost if it is simplfied down which is the premis of most logos

( then again my logo looks like a lot of other people's)

yeah, do what simplistik said... we can't crit something we can't actually see... the whole thing looks great... but maybe it's just because it's not only the logo involved... to be honest, the text that i presume is your logo looks quite plain/simple ( nothing cool ) the things that make the image look cool are those lines, dots, gradients, a.s.o. but not the logo... waiting for update ;)

PS: sorry i just saw you posted the logo too... so, the stretched/screwed logo looks quite bad... i feel it too "faded"... hard to explain actually, it's like "dead" seems, quite plain and uhh outer glow + other effects ? That's just wrong ( those things should never get used in a logo or whatsoever )... on the other-hand, the normal static black logo looks quite ok.. the only thing i feel bothering is that underline ( or you could just keep it there if you add an line of text there or something )... And yeah, one more thing... i have no idea what that text is... wtf are those symbols ? It looks good but i have no idea what it is, and it's quite crucial that people/visitors will remember "the name" of the company/site or whatever... Does it say Psyiks or wtf ? :lol: too complicated and too SF...

it's PSYKS :P

and their not symbols, it's text, i thought that was obvious, I agree the logo isn't special or cool, but it does the trick I think... I wish the forum had the option of changing the post title, since it's not about the logo, but about the image I had initially posted which is meant to be a website header of course the logo is within this header...

I like the shrooms, but I'm not feelin the logo itself.

couldn't tell if it said psyids or psyks
the shroom in the middle of the word makes you think that the logo should be two seperate words
get rid of the underline, or make it shorter to make it look like it's the ground underneath the shroom
the type face itself is pretty poor choice, but doing things like knocking the P out of the S just slightly hold no merit to the design itself just makes it look like an accident.
