USe some self colour lines, and add more steps of shading/tone around the nose to define the roundness of it.
Other than that- looking good.
I think some groovy exterior bg would be cool - like some sweet shot of a Japanese landscape with mountains :D

Tried to do some surgery on the nose:
http://hundsteg.se/Erik/bluestripesmall2.jpg
Noses and hands aren't my thing :/ Can't ever get them right.
Whats with the blue stripe? Well I like to add some sort of detail that stands out on most things I do. Makes the more unique.
Heres the FLA: http://hundsteg.se/Erik/facevector.fla (flash8)
I'll be back with another update and hopefully a background tomorrow.
Thanks for all the critique!

I really like it ohls, nice!:thumb:
A suggestion on the nose is to make a totally different type of nose. Start with something simple and work from there.. I was thinking something like this (http://bilder.vgb.no/14592/img_45910c7516c04.jpg) and add some shading and stuff. Of course you gotta make it less cartoonish, but yea. Maybe?!

That why do't waste money on plastic surgery...:nose:

Yeah dude, you gotta make the stepping more gradual and flow along the contour of the nose to make it realistic/believable.

Ohls,
Make her nose the same color as the rest of her face. It should curve down from the brow line, not the forehead. And then use a little highlighting and shadowing to suggest volume/depth. I'll show you what I mean if I get a chance. No promises. Very busy here lately. Nice start, though. What did you use for reference material?

Just a quick update during lunch:
Thanks for all the help guys, Really appreciate it!

I guess the nose could use a little less highlighting? I made it about 20% smaller than the original nose as well as cutting it of the forehead.
Gonna work a bit more on it when I get home.

Make the highlight sit on the right hand side of the nose. Since the shoulders are lit on the right, top, do the same with the nose. You could get away with a thing light highlight defining the nose shape, complimented by a shadow on the bottom left to give it depth.

Had a few minutes this AM so without completely hijacking your illustration, I made a few suggestions for changes/adjustments. Hope this helps a bit.

Its really good but her orange skin makes me think that she is covered in fake tan?
Am i right?
Keep up the good work.

Just be careful with the contour- right now the little bump ruins the nice soft shape, but it's much nicer :)

hair is great. color orange is terrible. nose is kinda ok now.
i really like her eyes, but to make her alive: try to put some light in her eyes! (highlight)
maybe you can try to take away the black outline on her face and on her hand? just an idea..

Fixed the bump and uploaded it to DA. Thanks a lot for the help everyone
http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/53421075/
Edit: Also added glare to both eyes. And removed outlines. I should have figured that one out by my self ><.
The Eyes I kept all black though because I wanted them to be dead. When I started doing the image the idea was a girl with white hair and lips and dead eyes. And the orange skin color was supposed to be sort of unnatural. Like the blue guy I made (http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/51749249/) But I guess it landed somewhere between natural and unnatural though haha ><.

looking much much better :thumb: ( one more thing regarding the nose... it looks ok now but i feel it a bit too sharp, especially at the edge "where it ends" )
Pasquale

the shadow on the RIGHT of the nose looks odd, but if you clean it up- you got a winner.

Rather than making a new topic I thought I'd just post my new thing in here. Look at the top post for picture and here: http://hundsteg.se/Erik/creature.swf for the animation =).
Critique very welcome!

Hey that's nice Ohls! Reminds me of the piracy kills music guy.
It would be kool if you could make that thing be your mouse cursor and the character move around like that. :thumb:

That would be cool :P. I'm afraid that its a little to advanced AS for my poor old brain though. I might try though :).
If anyone feels like doing it just PM me and I'll give you the source. You can do whatever you will with the result. I'd appriciate recognition for the original drawing though.

looking pretty good, especially with the new nose, but it think its the background thats putting me off, the oragnish skin isnt too bad, but its the black background thats making it much worse. As someone said earlier, a nice basic landscape scene would be cool, and help to give the view some scale and perspective.
